__NOTOC__ ''The Remixes'' is an EP by the band Ella Riot, formerly My Dear Disco. The band was active from 2007 to 2011. Though a live performing band, electronic music production was part of their forte since their inception. The band did most of their own production work, recording and mixing, and two of its members had studied electronic music in college. ''The Remixes EP'' is a collection of their remix work from 2009–2010. The first track was made for a Scion A/V remix collection of Todd Edwards' "I Might Be". The second track was highly praised for its use of live instruments by ''Arjanwrites'' music blog. My Dear Disco
Ella Riot was a musical group based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Founded in 2007 by Tyler Duncan as My Dear Disco, the name change came in March 2011. The band first released the eponymous EP ''My Dear Disco'' in 2007, releasing its first album ''Dancethink (album), Dancethink LP'' in January 2009. The album fused electro-pop, funk, rock, and techno into a distinctive sound the band members have dubbed "DanceThink". The band released two more EPs in 2010 and their last EP ''Love Child (Ella Riot EP), Love Child'' in March 2011, before going into an "indefinite hiatus" in October 2011. Synthpop
Synth-pop (short for synthesizer pop; also called techno-pop; ) is a subgenre of new wave music that first became prominent in the late 1970s and features the synthesizer as the dominant musical instrument. Techno

__NOTOC__ ''Love Child'' is the second studio release by Ann Arbor, Michigan-based band Ella Riot, formerly My Dear Disco. Being a studio recording and final release, ''Love Child'' is the band's second definitive work. It was engineered and recorded at Mission Sound studio. The band released a music video of the album's fourth track "It Could Be". The song's theme is "liberation" and according to band founder Tyler Duncan the video's concept is: "an unlikely person having the ideal response to our music." An album review by Mark Deming of AllMusic characterized the music as pop, influenced by funk, techno and house, and called the band's approach original. The last track "Clubbin" has bagpipes as the lead instrument, with Deming calling the fusion of bagpipes and guitars "a welcome bit of inspired lunacy". Todd Edward Imperatrice (born December 9, 1972), known professionally as Todd Edwards, is an American garage house record producer, DJ and singer from Bloomfield, New Jersey.
