Robert Gordon (director)
Robert Gordon (August 21, 1913 in Pittsburgh – December 1, 1990 in Los Angeles) was an American director and actor. His acting career, in which he was usually credited as Bobby Gordon, began in 1923 while he was a child, and continued through 1939. His first directing credit came with the 1947 film '' Blind Spot'', after which he directed several films, including ''The Joe Louis Story'' in 1953, ''It Came from Beneath the Sea'' in 1955, '' Black Zoo'' in 1963; and television series episodes including ''My Friend Flicka'', ''Zane Grey Theater'', '' The Texan'' and ''The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis''. Robert Knapp (actor)
Robert Knapp (February 24, 1924, Los Angeles, California – May 17, 2001, Glendale, California) was an American actor who appeared in film and on television between 1951 and 1976. Background As a teenager, Knapp worked on his father's orange grove in Covina, Los Angeles County, where he attended school. As a youth he particularly excelled in swimming and football. He studied for a year in a college in Glendale but dropped out to work as a messenger for Warner Brothers Studios. He became a member of Irving Asher's unit. After two years in the United States Army making training films, he returned to Warner Brothers, where he was employed in the publicity department and then as a second assistant director. His acting career was launched after he was seen playing opposite Mary Boland and Charles Ruggles in the play ''One Fine Day.'' John Dierkes
John Dierkes (February 10, 1905 – January 8, 1975) was an American actor who appeared in a number of classic Hollywood films. Before becoming an actor, he had been an economist. Life and career Dierkes was born on February 10, 1905 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended Brown University and subsequently went to work as an economist for the United States Department of State. In 1941 he joined the Red Cross and served in Britain during World War II. There he met director John Huston who recommended that he try Hollywood after the war. Instead, Dierkes went to work for the U.S. Treasury Department which coincidentally sent him to Hollywood to function as technical advisor for the film ''To the Ends of the Earth'' (1948) and Orson Welles cast him as Ross in his version of ''Macbeth'' in the same year. Rex Reason (November 30, 1928 – November 19, 2015) was an American actor best known for his role in ''This Island Earth'' (1955). Life and career Rex George Reason Jr. was born in Berlin, Germany, to an American family that returned to Los Angeles shortly thereafter, where Rex was raised. He was the elder brother of actor Rhodes Reason. Rex Reason attended Herbert Hoover High School in Glendale, California and enlisted in the United States Army at the age of seventeen, serving from 1946 to 1948. He began his stage career in 1948 at the Pasadena Playhouse, performing there for three years before coming to the notice of Hollywood.
