The Queens (1966 Film)
''Sex Quartet'' (US title: ''The Queens'', it, Le fate, 'the fairies') is a 1966 Italian-French comedy film directed by Mario Monicelli, Mauro Bolognini, Antonio Pietrangeli and Luciano Salce. It starred Capucine, Claudia Cardinale, Monica Vitti and Raquel Welch. Plot Four unrelated shorts by four different directors. "Queen Sabina" chronicles the sexual misadventures of a teenage girl on the road home. "Queen Armenia" centers on a self-saving opportunistic gypsy babysitter who uses her employer's kids for her own gain. The third episode, "Queen Elena" centers on a husband who learns a lesson about the perils of infidelity after he succumbs to the wiles of the seductive wife next door. The last vignette, "Queen Marta" centers on a wealthy woman who, when drunk, uses her butler as an outlet for her lust. Luciano Salce
Luciano Salce (25 September 1922 – 17 December 1989) was an Italian film director, comedian, tv host, producer, actor and lyricist. His 1962 film ''Le pillole di Ercole'' was shown as part of a retrospective on Italian comedy at the 67th Venice International Film Festival. As a writer of pop music, he used the pseudonym Pilantra. During World War II, he was a prisoner in Germany. He later worked for several years in Brazil. Anthony Steel (actor)
Anthony Maitland Steel (21 May 1920 – 21 March 2001) was a British actor and singer who appeared in British war films of the 1950s such as ''The Wooden Horse'' (1950) and ''Where No Vultures Fly''. He was also known for his tumultuous marriage to Anita Ekberg. Studio System by Gracenote, formerly known as Baseline StudioSystems, is an American e-commerce company. A comedy film is a category of film which emphasizes humor. These films are designed to make the audience laugh through amusement. Technicolor is a series of Color motion picture film, color motion picture processes, the first version dating back to 1916, and followed by improved versions over several decades. Definitive Technicolor movies using three black and white films running through a special camera (3-strip Technicolor or Process 4) started in the early 1930s and continued through to the mid-1950s when the 3-strip camera was replaced by a standard camera loaded with single strip 'monopack' color negative film. Ruggero Mastroianni
Ruggero Mastroianni (7 November 1929 – 9 September 1996) was an Italian film editor. In his obituary of Mastroianni, critic Tony Sloman described him as "arguably, the finest Italian film editor of his generation." Born in Turin, he was the brother of the actor Marcello Mastroianni and nephew of the sculptor Umberto Mastroianni. He had a significant collaboration with director Federico Fellini, whose films he edited for over twenty years; their work includes ''Giulietta degli spiriti'' (1965), '' Amarcord'' (1973), and ''Ginger and Fred'' (1986), the last of which features his brother. Franco Fraticelli (30 August, 1928 in Rome, Italy – 26 April 2012 in Rome) was an Italian film editor with more than 150 film credits. Fraticelli was director Dario Argento's editor of choice from his earliest films (''The Bird with the Crystal Plumage''-1969) through ''Opera'' (1987). He also had an important collaboration with director Lina Wertmüller, commencing with her third film ''Rita the Mosquito'' (1966). Fraticelli edited nine more of her films through ''A Joke of Destiny'' (1983). In particular, Fraticelli edited ''Seven Beauties'' (1976). Nino Baragli (1 October 1925 – 29 May 2013) was an Italian film editor with more than 200 film credits. Among his films in English, ''The Good, the Bad and the Ugly'' (1966) and ''Once Upon a Time in the West'' (1968), both directed by Sergio Leone, are perhaps the best known. Born in Rome as Giovanni Baragli, he was introduced in the film industry by his uncle, the renowned editor Eraldo Da Roma. Armando Nannuzzi
Armando Nannuzzi (21 September 1925 – 14 May 2001) was an Italian cinematographer and camera operator active from the 1940s until the 1990s. His career spanned six decades and over 100 films. Biography Nannuzzi briefly worked in the United States in the mid-1980s, and during this period he collaborated with horror novelist Stephen King on '' Maximum Overdrive'', King's directorial debut. An accident occurred on 31 July 1985, during shooting in a suburb of Wilmington, North Carolina, for ''Maximum Overdrive''. A radio controlled lawnmower used in a scene went out of control and struck a block of wood used as a camera support, shooting out wood splinters which injured Nannuzzi, the director of photography on the production. As a result, Nannuzzi lost his right eye. After the incident, Nannuzzi sued Stephen King, and 17 others on 18 February 1987 for $18 million in damages due to unsafe working practices. Carlo Di Palma
Carlo Di Palma (17 April 19259 July 2004) was an Italian cinematographer, renowned for his work on both color and black-and-white films, whose most famous collaborations were with Michelangelo Antonioni and Woody Allen. Early life Carlo Di Palma was born into a poor Roman family; his mother was a flower seller on the Spanish Steps, while his father was a camera operator for a number of Italian film studios. In an interview shortly before his death, Di Palma recounted his childhood memories of observing his father in action: "I'd run to the studio or the location, and watch my father work. I was fascinated by the whole experience. I would stand on a crate sometimes and watch. All of the people that were on the location were pleasant to me.
