''The Queen Was in the Parlour'' is a 1927 Anglo-German silent drama film directed by Graham Cutts and starring Lili Damita, Louis Ralph and Paul Richter. It was based on the Noël Coward play ''The Queen Was in the Parlour''. Its German title was ''Die letzte Nacht''. Production The film was made as part of an Anglo-German co-production between Gainsborough Pictures and the leading German company UFA. It was shot at UFA's Babelsberg Studio in Berlin. Graham Cutts
John Henry Graham Cutts (1884 – 7 February 1958), known as Graham Cutts, was a British film director, one of the leading British directors in the 1920s. His fellow director A. V. Bramble believed that Gainsborough Pictures had been built on the back of his work. His daughter was actress Patricia Cutts (1926–1974). Cutts worked with many leading figures in the UK film and stage world, including Basil Dean, Alfred Hitchcock, Gracie Fields, Ivor Novello, and Noël Coward. Ernő Verebes (born Ernst Weiss, December 6, 1902 – June 13, 1971) was a Hungarian-American actor who began his career in Hungarian silent films in 1915. During his film career he worked and lived in Hungary, Germany and in the United States. He was born into a Hungarian emigrant family in New York, but his family later returned to Austria-Hungary. Verebes was successful in Germany during the 1920s and early 1930s, often appearing in elegant and comedic roles. Friedrich Rudolf Klein (24 November 1885 – 29 May 1955), better known as Rudolf Klein-Rogge, was a German film actor, best known for playing sinister figures in films in the 1920s and 1930s as well as being a mainstay in director Fritz Lang's Weimar-era films. He is probably best known in popular culture, particularly to English-speaking audiences, for playing the archetypal mad scientist role of C. A. Rotwang in Lang's ''Metropolis'' and as the criminal genius Doctor Mabuse. Klein-Rogge also appeared in several important French films in the late 1920s and early 1930s.
