	The Purple Highway ''The Purple Highway'' is a lost film, lost 1923 American comedy-drama film directed by Henry Kolker and starring Madge Kennedy. It was released by Paramount Pictures. The film is based on a 1921 Broadway play, ''Dear Me'', by Hale Hamilton and Luther Reed. Hamilton's wife Grace La Rue starred in the play version. 	Henry Kolker Joseph Henry Kolker (November 13, 1874 ome sources 1870– July 15, 1947) was an American stage and film actor and director. Early years Kolker was born in Quincy, Illinois. Career Kolker, like fellow actors Richard Bennett and Robert Warwick, had a substantial stage career before entering silent films. He began acting professionally in stock theater in 1895. On stage he appeared opposite actresses such as Edith Wynne Matthison, Bertha Kalich and Ruth Chatterton. Kolker began acting in films in 1915. He is best remembered for his movie roles, including one in the ground-breaking Pre-Code film ''Baby Face'' (1933) as an elderly CEO. Another well-remembered part is as Mr. Seton, father of Katharine Hepburn and Lew Ayres in the 1938 film ''Holiday'' directed by George Cukor. 	Emily Fitzroy Emily Fitzroy (24 May 1860 – 3 March 1954) was an English theatre and film actress who eventually became an American citizen. She was at one time a leading lady in London for Sir Charles Wyndham. She made her film debut in 1915. Her debut in sound films came in ''Show Boat'' (1929). She retired in 1944. 	Charles Kent (actor) Charles Kent (18 June 1853 – 21 May 1923) was a British-American stage actor and silent film actor and director. He appeared in more than 140 films between 1908 and 1923. He also directed 36 films between 1908 and 1913. Personal life Kent was born on 18 June 1953 in London to Frederick Kent, an Englishman, and Martha Kent, a French woman, in 1853.
