''The Prophecy'' is an American fantasy horror-thriller film franchise, which focuses on angels fighting each other to protect the survival of the human race on Earth. Produced by Dimension Film, the series was established in 1995 with the eponymous first installment, '' The Prophecy'', which has since been followed by four direct-to-video sequels. Gregory Widen is an American screenwriter and film director. He is the creator of the '' Highlander'' film and television franchise, and the writer-director of the cult horror film '' The Prophecy''. Biography A native of Laguna Beach, California, Gregory Widen holds a master's degree from UCLA and once worked full-time as a city firefighter. Douglas William Bradley (born 7 September 1954) is an English actor and author, best known for his role as the lead Cenobite "Pinhead" in the ''Hellraiser'' film series and for narration on various Cradle of Filth albums. ''The Prophecy'' is a 1995 American fantasy thriller film starring Christopher Walken, Elias Koteas, Virginia Madsen, Eric Stoltz, and Viggo Mortensen. Dimension Films is an American film production company owned by Lantern Entertainment.
