The Project (New Zealand TV Programme)
''The Project'' is a New Zealand current affairs show hosted by Jesse Mulligan, Kanoa Lloyd, and Jeremy Corbett with rotating guest panelists. It premiered on 20 February 2017 as a replacement for ''Story'' and airs from 7 pm weeknights on Three. The show runs for half an hour. It was simulcast on RadioLive, Monday – Thursday, until 5 June 2017. The show's format was purchased from Roving Enterprises and is the same as that of the Australian version, '' The Project'', which airs on Network Ten. It presents light and topical current affairs content as well as comedy from recent news stories. ''The Project'' (previously ''The 7PM Project'' from 2009 to 2011) is an Australian news- current affairs and talk show television panel program, airing weeknights across Australia on Network 10, produced by Roving Enterprises. The show is hosted by Waleed Aly, Sarah Harris, Georgie Tunny, and Hamish Macdonald with rotating daily guest panellists. The one-hour show, formerly half-hour, premiered on 20 July 2009 and airs live in the eastern states with delays in other states (including Queensland during daylight saving). It is broadcast Monday to Friday from Network 10's studio in The Como Centre, South Yarra, Melbourne and Sundays from Network 10's Sydney studios at Pyrmont. ''The Project'' draws its content and comedy from recent news stories and offers a sometimes alternative view to mainstream, sponsored news stories. Peter Jason Matthew Helliar (born 16 June 1975) is an Australian comedian, actor, television, radio presenter, writer, producer and director. He is best known for his work on television as a former regular co-host of '' The Project'' on Network Ten from January 2014 to December 2022, replacing previous presenter Dave Hughes to host alongside Carrie Bickmore, Waleed Aly and Lisa Wilkinson. Helliar also appeared with Rove McManus as his sidekick on ''The Loft Live'' from 1997 to 1998, on ''Rove'' from 1999 and 2009 and in ''Before the Game'' as alter ego Bryan Strauchan. Helliar initially worked the Melbourne comedy circuit in the mid-1990s, performing in various venues and the annual Melbourne International Comedy Festival. ''Seven Sharp'' is a half-hour-long New Zealand current affairs programme produced by Television New Zealand. The programme was created after the discontinuation of ''Close Up''. It is broadcast live from the TVNZ studio it shares with ''1 News'' in Auckland, at 7 pm (straight after '' 1 News at Six'') every weekday on TVNZ 1. ''Seven Sharp'' typically presents 3 stories within a 30-minute timeslot every weeknight, and is designed to be more integrated with social media and real time opinions than its predecessor. Paul Ego (birth name Paul Jones) is a Billy T Award winning New Zealand comedian. He is best known both for his current role as leader of Team One on the New Zealand comedy current affairs panel show 7 Days, and as the voice artist of the Stickman in television advertisements for PAK'nSAVE supermarket. Ego's first gig was in London in 1994 and upon returning to New Zealand in 1995 he soon became a regular sight on the pro-comedy skyline. Jonathan Richard "Jono" Pryor is a New Zealand radio and television personality best known as the cohost of ''Jono and Ben''. Pryor worked for The Rock radio station for over 15 years, before moving to The Edge in 2017 to cohost ''The Edge Afternoons with Jono, Ben & Sharyn'' with Ben Boyce and Sharyn Casey.
