The Onyas
The Onyas are an Australian punk rock band which formed in 1991 in Brisbane. The members are John "Mad Macka" McKeering (vocals, guitar) and the brothers Richard "Stanners" Stanley (bass) and Jordan "Jaws" Stanley (drum). On 19 October 1996 they supported the Sex Pistols on their Filthy Lucre Tour, at the Festival Hall (Melbourne), Festival Hall in Melbourne. They made five international tours, with three to Europe (1996, 1997 and 1998), and two to the United States (1997 and 2000). In 2006 John McKeering also joined Melbourne band Cosmic Psychos on guitar, after the death of Robert John "Rocket" Watts. In 2016 the band celebrated its 25 year anniversary with a concert on 1 April at The Tote Hotel, The Tote, Melbourne. The Tote Hotel
The Tote is a hotel, pub, bar, and live music venue located in Collingwood, Melbourne, Australia. The venue hosts many independent local, Australian and international acts, and carries a reputation for showcasing new and emerging independent musical acts of a variety of stylistic origins, having done so since the 1980s. The venue operates 5 days a week with performances across 3 settings, the "main stage", the "cobra bar" and the "front bar". It is located at 67-71 Johnston Street. The hotel is thought to have been built in 1870 as Healey's, becoming the Ivanhoe Hotel in 1876, and held by the Healey family until 1940, when it was renovated. The name changed to "The Tote" in 1980 when the venue began hosting local and Australian punk, post-punk, heavy metal and hardcore bands. Festival Hall (Melbourne)
Festival Hall is a heritage listed entertainment venue located at 300 Dudley Street, West Melbourne, Victoria. It is one of Melbourne's larger concert venues and has hosted a variety of local and international acts over many years. In October 2020, Hillsong purchased the Festival Hall venue. It will continue to host entertainment events, in addition to hosting Hillsong Church Melbourne City's weekly church services. The building is set to undergo renovation to better suit the new uses. The Filthy Lucre Tour was the 1996 reunion tour of the pioneering British punk rock band Sex Pistols. The 78-date world tour lasted for almost six months. Boondall is a suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Boondall had a population of 9,217 people. It was formerly known as Cabbage Tree Creek (after the creek that flows through the area). Geography Situated approximately north of Brisbane near Moreton Bay, almost halfway between Brisbane and the coastal city of Redcliffe. Bounded on the north by Deagon, Sandgate and Shorncliffe, on the east by Nudgee and Nudgee Beach, on the south by Banyo, Geebung and Virginia and on the west by Taigum and Zillmere. The borders of Boondall are defined by loosely following the Cabbage Tree Creek (Tighgum) to the north and then following down Muller Road in the west.
