''The Obstacle Is the Way: The Timeless Art of Turning Trials into Triumph'' is the third book by author Ryan Holiday. It was published in 2014. Joseph John Maddon (born February 8, 1954) is an American former professional baseball manager and coach. He has managed the Tampa Bay Rays, Chicago Cubs, and Los Angeles Angels of Major League Baseball. Peter Clay Carroll (born September 15, 1951) is an American football coach who is the head coach and executive vice president for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL).
