The New Adventures Of Captain Wrongel
''The New Adventures of Captain Wrongel'' (russian: Новые приключения капитана Врунгеля, Novye priklucheniya kapitana Vrungelya) is a 1978 Soviet children's musical adventure film directed by Gennady Vasilyev loosely based on ''The Adventures of Captain Wrongel'' by Andrei Nekrasov. Plot At the English lesson in the secondary school No. 12 in Gurzuf, the teacher gives children the task to write an essay titled "The Summer Holiday". Young pioneer member Vasya Lopotukhin opens the exercise book but his thoughts are far away from the lesson. As a result, in his dreams he goes along with Captain Wrongel to investigate the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle. Thanks to ingenuity and resourcefulness, Vasya manages to unravel the machinations of a group of gangsters who are operating in the area of the Bermuda Triangle. ''Priklyucheniya kapitana Vrungelya'') is a 1976-1979 Soviet Cutout animation-Traditional musical adventure animation comedy miniseries by David Cherkassky, Kievnauchfilm, loosely based on the novel with the same name by . The series consists of 13 episodes, of which 1-3 were animated/filmed in 1976, 4-6 in 1977, 7-9 in 1978, and 10-13 in 1979. The book by Nekrasov was first published in the ''Pioneer'' magazine in 1937 (shortened, in the form of a comic). A full text publication was issued in 1939. Mikhail Ivanovich Pugovkin (russian: Михаи́л Ива́нович Пу́говкин; July 13, 1923, Rameshki, Chukhlomsky District of Kostroma Oblast — July 25, 2008, Moscow) (aged 85) was a Soviet and Russian comic actor named a People's Artist of the USSR in 1988.
