The Mount is a psychiatric hospital based in Hyde Terrace, Leeds. It is managed by Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. Leeds And York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
Leeds and York Partnerships NHS Foundation Trust became an NHS Foundation Trust in August 2007. It merged with mental health and learning disability services from NHS North Yorkshire and York in February 2012 becoming Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. It provides specialist mental health and learning disability services across Yorkshire, England. In May 2015 it lost a £190 million contract to provide mental health and learning disability services in the Vale of York and specialist services in North Yorkshire which it had run since 2012. The decision to award the contract to Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust was described by the trust as unfair, and they complained to Monitor (NHS). Dr Mark Hayes of the Vale of York Clinical Commissioning Group defended the decision, saying staff and patients would not be affected by the change of provider and that it would mean York has the same provider as the rest of North Yorkshire. Leeds () is a city and the administrative centre of the City of Leeds district in West Yorkshire, England. It is built around the River Aire and is in the eastern foothills of the Pennines. High Royds Hospital
High Royds Hospital is a former psychiatric hospital south of the village of Menston, West Yorkshire, England. The hospital, which opened in 1888, closed in 2003 and the site has since been developed for residential use. History The estate on which the asylum was built was purchased by the West Riding Justices for £18,000 in 1885. The hospital was designed on the broad arrow plan by architect J. Vickers Edwards and the large gothic complex of stone buildings was formally opened as the West Riding Pauper Lunatic Asylum on 8 October 1888. The administration building, which is Grade II listed, features an Italian mosaic floor in the main corridor which is intricately decorated with the Yorkshire Rose and black daisies - the latter of which provided inspiration for the title of ''Black Daisies'', a television screenplay filmed at High Royds which took as its subject the experiences of sufferers of Alzheimer's disease.
