The Motor Cavaliers
''The Motor Cavaliers'' (Swedish: ''Motorkavaljerer'') is a 1950 Swedish comedy sports film directed by Elof Ahrle and starring Åke Söderblom, Viveca Serlachius and Sten Gester.Segrave & Martin p.273 It was shot at the Centrumateljéerna Studios in Stockholm. The film's sets were designed by the art director P.A. Lundgren. Synopsis A shop assistant becomes an unlikely motorcycle speedway star after he agrees to substitute for his friend who actually drove the winning bike. After trying to escape publicity he heads to the countryside, but returns to take part in a major race which he himself really wins this time. He also wins the affections of the daughter of his employer. Katarina Taikon
Katarina Taikon-Langhammer (29 July 1932 – 30 December 1995) was a Swedish Romany activist, leader in the civil rights movement, writer and actor, from the Kalderash caste. She was the sister of Rosa Taikon. Biography During Taikon's childhood Romani still lived in camps in Sweden, and had to move often, which made it hard for the children to get any school education. Taikon did not learn how to read and write until she was in her teens. In 1946, Taikon was married off to a man. In 1948, a 16-year-old Taikon participated in Arne Sucksdorff's documentary short film ''Uppbrott'', where she danced around a camp fire. The filming of the documentary made it possible for Taikon to divorce her husband. For the next decade, Taikon acted in several Swedish motion pictures. Taikon dedicated her life to improving conditions for Romani people in Sweden and throughout the world. Carl-Gustaf Lindstedt
Carl-Gustaf Lindstedt (24 February 1921 – 16 January 1992) was a Swedish comedian and actor. History He grew up in Kungsholmen in Stockholm, where there now is a street named after him. His father was a Social Democratic politician and Carl-Gustaf started his acting in a socialist youth theater club. From the 1940s, he was associated at the Casinorevyn ensemble at Casinoteatern on Bryggargatan in Stockholm. Lindstedt quickly became one of the crowd favorites at the theater. Here he met Arne Kallerud (1913-1981), who became Lindstedt's stage partner in many revues, films and radio shows. Their radio series became a success in the late 1950s. In 1957, Lindstedt and Kallerud started their own theater: Nöjeskatten at Södermalm, Stockholm. They operated the theater until the mid-1960s. Fritz Adolf Ferdinand Siegfried Fischer (14 July 1894 – 8 April 1976) was a Swedish actor, theatre manager, playwright, screenwriter and writer. He was born in Stockholm, the son of conductor Franz Fischer. At seventeen years old he was hired by Axel Lindblad's theatre company. He was engaged at '' Blancheteatern'' 1919–1921 and then at the '' Casinoteatern'' until 1928, where he also worked as a director and playwright.
