The MUJU Crew
The MUJU Crew (MUJU) are a London-based group that bring Muslims and Jews together through a shared passion for creating art and provides a platform for creative collaboration. Works include theatre productions, art festivals, commissions and other live events. History MUJU began as "The Tricycle Muslim Jewish Youth Theatre Group" in 2004. Supported by the Tricycle Theatre, The Pears Foundation and One to One Children Foundation, the group’s main aim was to encourage young Muslims and Jews to meet for weekly drama workshops to allow members to express themselves creatively and explore themes of interest. The group soon began tackling issues of race, religion, poverty, social justice and youth culture. Over time the theatre group became a melting pot of ideas. After three years, three plays and the first upSTARTS Festival in March 2008, the founding members of the MUJU workshops established the group as a registered charity. Play (theatre)
A play is a work of drama, usually consisting mostly of dialogue between characters and intended for theatrical performance rather than just reading. The writer of a play is called a playwright. An arts festival is a festival that can encompass a wide range of art forms including music, dance, film, fine art, literature, poetry and isn't solely focused on visual arts. Arts festivals may feature a mixed program that include music, literature, comedy, children's entertainment, science, or street theatre, and are typically presented in venues over a period of time ranging from as short as a day or a weekend to a month. Tricycle Theatre
The Kiln Theatre (formerly the Tricycle Theatre) is a theatre located in Kilburn, in the London Borough of Brent, England. Since 1980, the theatre has presented a wide range of plays reflecting the cultural diversity of the area, as well as new writing, political work and verbatim reconstructions of public inquiries. The theatre has produced original work by playwrights such as Lynn Nottage, Patrick Barlow, Richard Bean, David Edgar, Stephen Jeffreys, Abi Morgan, Simon Stephens, Roy Williams, Lolita Chakrabarti, Moira Buffini, Alexi Kaye Campbell, Florian Zeller and Ayad Akhtar.
