The Little Ones (band)
The Little Ones is an indie pop band based in Los Angeles, California. The music of the band, which features tambourines and handclaps, has garnered comparisons to 1960s pop bands such as The Beach Boys, The Zombies, The Kinks, modern-day pop group The Shins, and the Elephant Six collective. History Before Ed Reyes and Ian Moreno formed The Little Ones, they were members of an indie rock band called Sunday's Best. Reyes explained in an interview for the South by Southwest (SXSW) arts festival that "We’re always the underdogs. We’re not hired guns; we’re all friends and that keeps us dynamic. We’re always having fun!" Elephant Six
The Elephant 6 Recording Company is a loosely defined musical collective from the United States. Notable bands associated with the collective include the Apples in Stereo, Beulah, Circulatory System, Elf Power, the Minders, Neutral Milk Hotel, of Montreal, and the Olivia Tremor Control. Although bands in Elephant 6 explore many different genres, they have a shared interest in psychedelic pop of the 1960s, with particular influence from bands such as the Beach Boys, the Beatles, and the Zombies. Their music sometimes features intentionally low fidelity production and experimental recording techniques. The collective started in Ruston, Louisiana in the late 1980s. Matthew Albert Costa (born June 16, 1982) is an American singer-songwriter from Huntington Beach, California, United States. He has 13 independent releases: 7 self-recorded EPs, 6 complete LPs, 4 of which are released via Brushfire Records. His first album in five years, ''Santa Rosa Fangs'', was released on May 18, 2018, on Dangerbird Records. Life Matt Costa, who is of Portuguese descent, states that his father works in the airline business.
