''The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'' is a British children's television drama first broadcast by the BBC in 1988. It was the first series of ''The Chronicles of Narnia'' that ran from 1988 to 1990. Plot Narnia is the home of the great lion Aslan. During his long absence, his arch-enemy, the evil White Witch places Narnia in an eternal winter. However, with the return of Aslan and the arrival of the four Pevensie children, the Narnians are given a hope to end the tyranny of the Witch. Michael Aldridge
Michael William ffolliott Aldridge (9 September 1920 – 10 January 1994) was an English actor. He was known for playing Seymour Utterthwaite in the television series ''Last of the Summer Wine'' from 1986 to 1990 and he had a long career as a character actor on stage and screen dating back to the 1930s. Keith Hodiak
Keith Hodiak is a Guyanese-born, British-based actor who was active on British TV and film between 1978 and 1992. Emigrating to the UK from Guyana in 1960, he became interested in dance when Lee Edwards visited his school in Stoke Newington to work with pupils to put together performance shows. After encouragement from Edwards, Hodiak was awarded a scholarship to train at Arts Educational Schools. This was followed by spending a year working in Germany before joining Ballet Rambert, at the time under director Norman Morrice. His acting debut came in 1978, when he took on the role of Sam Spade in ''Revenge of the Pink Panther''. Martin Stone (actor)
Maugrim is a fictional character in the 1950 novel ''The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'' by C. S. Lewis. A Narnian wolf, he is the Captain of the White Witch's Secret Police. In early American editions of the book, Lewis changed the name to Fenris Ulf (a reference to Fenrisúlfr, a wolf from Norse mythology), but when HarperCollins took over the books they took out Lewis' revisions, and the name ''Maugrim'' has been used in all editions since 1994. Maugrim is one of the few Talking Animals who sided with the Witch during the Hundred-Year Winter. Nikabrik in '' Prince Caspian'' indicates that Narnian wolves have no loyalty to the lion Aslan. The White Witch
Jadis is the main antagonist of ''The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'' (1950) and ''The Magician's Nephew'' (1955) in C. S. Lewis's series, ''The Chronicles of Narnia''. She is commonly referred to as the White Witch in ''The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'', as she is the Witch who froze Narnia in the Hundred Years Winter. Some recent editions of the books include brief notes, added by later editors, that describe the cast of characters. As Lewis scholar Peter Schakel points out, the notes' description of Jadis and the Queen of Underland (the main antagonist of '' The Silver Chair'') "states incorrectly that the Queen of Underland is an embodiment of Jadis". Barbara Rose Kellerman (originally spelt Kellermann; born 30 December 1949) is an English actress, known for her film and television roles. She trained at Rose Bruford College. Kellerman was born in Manchester, Lancashire. William Todd-Jones
William Todd-Jones (born 1958) is a Welsh puppeteer, puppet designer, performer, director, movement consultant and writer for film, television and theatre in the UK and abroad. As an environmentalist, Todd-Jones is a longstanding patron of the wildlife charity Save The Rhino International, and has been involved with many other conservation projects. Early life Todd-Jones grew up in the village of Nantyglo in Wales. He attended Hafod y Ddol grammar school and Nantyglo Comprehensive School.
