The Lighthouse Project (EP)
''The Lighthouse Project'' is an EP by amiina from Iceland, released on June 7, 2013. The songs were originally played during a summer 2009 concert tour in Iceland where amiina played at small and unusual locations, such as the Dalatangaviti lighthouse. Except for the last song, the songs on ''The Lighthouse Project'' were recorded "live" in studio trying to reproduce the atmosphere of the original performances. The last song is a 2009 recording from the Dalatangaviti lighthouse, shown on the cover and referenced by the longitude/latitude song name. During the time leading up to the release of ''The Lighthouse Project'' the band's label released two teaser videos depicting the Icelandic landscape and eventually a full video of the band playing the first track ''Perth'' inside Dalatangaviti lighthouse. Amiina
Amiina (formerly Amína, stylized in lowercase) is an Icelandic band composed of members Maria Huld Markan Sigfúsdóttir, and Sólrún Sumarliðadóttir, Magnús Trygvason Eliassen and Guðmundur Vignir Karlsson. In the past they have frequently performed live and in the studio with Sigur Rós. Their music is made with a great number of instruments. It contains elements of minimalistic style, contemporary classical, ambient, and electronic loops. In their performances each member will play many instruments, sometimes moving across the stage, going from one instrument to another mid-song. Puzzle (Amiina Album)
''Puzzle'' is the second album by the Icelandic band amiina. It was released on September 27, 2010. This album has references to the bands EP ''Re Minore'' as the tracks "Ásinn", "Púsl" and "Sicsak" are re-worked versions of the songs "Ásinn", "Þristurinn" and "Tvisturinn" from that release. Additionally, the track "Mambó" is a re-worked version of the song "Ammælis" from the "Seoul" single. As part of the pre-order package for the album the band released a video of the band playing "Glámur" from their previous studio album, ''Kurr'', at the Reykjavík Arts Festival from 2008. This concert was the original quartets first performance together with Magnús Trygvason Eliassen and Kippi Kaninus (Guðmundur Vignir Karlsson) and it also marks the start of their collaboration. ''Fantômas'' is the third album by amiina. It was released in late 2016 and was originally conceived as a score to the silent movie of the same name. It premiered at a screening of the silent movies in Paris 2013 together with music by James Blackshaw, Tim Hecker, Loney, Dear and Yann Tiersen who also curated the event. The special edition of the album came with a playable postcard with the song "Café From Fantômas" and four semitransparent prints of the band members. Sundlaugin (, ''the swimming pool'') is a recording studio located near Álafoss in the town of Mosfellsbær in Iceland known for being the recording and rehearsal location of post-rock band Sigur Rós. The location was originally a swimming pool built in the 1930s which had been abandoned when Sigur Rós purchased it in 1999 and converted it and adjacent buildings into a studio. The band originally intended to record their third album, entitled '' ( )'', in an abandoned NATO tracking base in the northernmost mountain in Iceland, but after inspection decided it was too impractical. Shortly after they found the abandoned pool lot in a rural neighborhood in Mosfellsbær. They bought the lot and transformed it into a studio.
