''Super Friends: The Legendary Super Powers Show'' is an American animated television series about a team of superheroes which ran from 1984 to 1985 on ABC. It was produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions and is based on the Justice League and associated comic book characters published by DC Comics. Format ''Super Friends: The Legendary Super Powers Show'' was the first ''Super Friends'' series in a new format since 1979's ''The World's Greatest Super Friends''. Continuing the previous three years' policy of producing short stories, this series' format was two stories per half-hour, so all the separate stories were ten minutes long each. Furthermore, the Wonder Twins were largely supplanted as audience identification figures by Firestorm, a well-established teenage superhero in the DC Comics Universe. Justice League
The Justice League (also known as The Justice League of America) are a team of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The team first appeared in ''The Brave and the Bold'' #28 (March 1960). The team was conceived by writer Gardner Fox as a revival of the Justice Society of America, a similar team from DC Comics from the 1940s which had been pulled out of print due to a decline in sales. The Justice League is an all-star ensemble cast of established superhero characters from DC Comics' portfolio. Diegetically, these superheroes usually operate independently but occasionally assemble as a team to tackle especially formidable villains. This in contrast to certain other superhero teams such as the X-Men, whose characters were created specifically to be part of the team, with the team being central to their identity. Ray Patterson (animator)
Raymond Patterson (November 23, 1911 – December 30, 2001) was an American animator, producer, and director. He was born in Hollywood, California, and was the younger brother of animator Don Patterson (animator), Don Patterson. Career Patterson's earliest works in animation were for Charles B. Mintz's Screen Gems, Krazy Kat/Screen Gems studio, where he started as an inker in 1929. He remained at Mintz for eleven years. In 1940, he moved to the Walt Disney Animation Studios, Walt Disney Studio, where he animated on ''Fantasia (1940 film), Fantasia'' and ''Dumbo'', as well as several Pluto (Disney), Pluto shorts (''Bone Trouble'' and ''Pluto's Playmate''). Stanley Ralph Ross
Stanley Ralph Ross (July 22, 1935 – March 16, 2000) was an American writer and actor. He was raised in Brooklyn, New York, starting his career in advertising with Chudacoff and Margulis Advertising in West Los Angeles, then soon going to work as a writer on various television shows such as the 1960s ''Batman'' series starring Adam West and also ''The Monkees'', and developed ''Wonder Woman'' for television with Douglas S. Cramer. Ross was sometimes credited as Sue Donem, a pun on "pseudonym". Career In 1958, Ross teamed with Bob Arbogast to write and record the novelty record "Chaos, parts 1 and 2". When it came out (on Liberty Records), it sold 10,000 copies in three days and then was banned from radio play on the fourth day - when stations realized that it satirized "Top 40" radio. Casey Kasem
Kemal Amin "Casey" Kasem (April 27, 1932 – June 15, 2014) was an American disc jockey, actor, and radio personality, who created and hosted several radio countdown programs, notably '' American Top 40''. He was the first actor to voice Norville "Shaggy" Rogers in the ''Scooby-Doo'' franchise (1969 to 1997 and 2002 to 2009) and as Dick Grayson/Robin in ''Super Friends'' (1973–1985). Gordon Stanley Jones (October 23, 1926 – December 30, 1998), sometimes credited as G. Stanley Jones, Stanley G. Jones or Stanley Jones, was a Canadian-born radio, film and television actor. Edward L. Jones (December 12, 1943 – September 16, 2014) was an American voice actor and television host. He is probably best known from his roles as Black Vulcan in ''Super Friends'', Blaster in '' The Transformers'', Doc in '' G.I.
