The Kings Are Here
''The Kings Are Here'' is the debut Canadian studio album by the Kings, released in 1980 and certified Platinum in 2021. Its first two tracks, "This Beat Goes On" and "Switchin' to Glide", are usually played together and reached #59 on the ''RPM'' singles chart in Canada. The album was reissued on CD for the first time in 1999 with five bonus tracks as ''The Kings Are Here and More''. Background ''The Kings Are Here'' was produced by Bob Ezrin, who had just completed working on Pink Floyd's ''The Wall''. Taking some time off, Ezrin was back home in Toronto and stopped by the Soundstage studio, where he had worked with Alice Cooper and others. There he encountered the Kings recording a self-funded album and, liking what he heard, agreed to mix the tracks "This Beat Goes On" and "Switchin' to Glide". ''The Wall'' is the eleventh studio album by the English progressive rock band Pink Floyd, released on 30 November 1979 by Harvest/EMI and Columbia/CBS Records. It is a rock opera that explores Pink, a jaded rock star whose eventual self-imposed isolation from society forms a figurative wall. The album was a commercial success, topping the US charts for 15 weeks and reaching number three in the UK. Hugh Syme
Hugh Syme is a Canadian Juno Award-winning graphic artist and member of the Premier Artists Collection (PAC) who is best known for his artwork and cover concepts for rock and metal bands. He is also a musician and has appeared on some Rush albums as a keyboard player. Syme is notably responsible for all of Rush's album cover art since 1975's ''Caress of Steel'' as well as creating Rush's famous Starman logo. In 1983 he told Jeffrey Morgan that he never imagined the band would use it as their main logo. Syme also plays piano on the album ''Thrilling Women'', which Morgan recorded with Dean Motter. Doug Lionel Sax (April 26, 1936 – April 2, 2015) was an American mastering engineer from Los Angeles, California. He mastered three of The Doors' albums, including their 1967 debut; six of Pink Floyd's albums, including ''The Wall''; Ray Charles' multiple-Grammy winner ''Genius Loves Company'' in 2004, and Bob Dylan's 36th studio album '' Shadows in the Night'' in 2015.
