''The Horrifying Truth'' is the debut studio album by New Zealand rock band I Am Giant, released on 1 August 2011. It debuted at No. 2 and has been certified Gold in New Zealand. The album became the highest selling NZ rock album of 2011. With the increasing interest in the band in Asia and Europe, the album was also released in Asia on 23 March 2012, and in the UK on 8 October 2012. Production ''The Horrifying Truth'' was recorded from January to April 2011 with acclaimed Australian alternative rock producer/engineer Forrester Savell. I Am Giant
I Am Giant is a rock band based in London, United Kingdom. They formed in West Auckland, New Zealand in late 2008 and released their debut album '' The Horrifying Truth'' on 1 August 2011 in Australia and New Zealand, where it has been certified Gold and delivered four Rock Chart No. 1's. The album was released in Asia on 23 March 2012, and in Europe and US on 8 October 2012. The band was formed by New Zealanders Shelton Woolright, Paul Matthews, who then recruited Brit Ed Martin. Drummer Shelton Woolright had been with Blindspott, the only rock band in New Zealand music history to have both their debut and follow up albums enter the charts at number 1 until NZ band Devilskin also took that honour in 2016. Post-grunge
Post-grunge is a derivative of grunge that has a less abrasive or intense tone than traditional grunge. TrinityRoots
TrinityRoots (1998–2005, 2011–present) are a band based in Wellington, New Zealand. Although they are commonly associated with New Zealand reggae they also embody a stripped back, jazz and soul-influenced rhythmic sound, which often builds up to highly emotional drum- and guitar-led crescendos. Like their contemporaries Fat Freddy's Drop, TrinityRoots formed a loyal fan base through live performances and word of mouth. They played alongside international acts including Ben Harper, Lee Scratch Perry, The Mad Professor, as well as local bands such as Fat Freddys Drop, Salmonella Dub and Che Fu. The Official New Zealand Music Chart ( mi, Te Papa Tātai Waiata Matua o Aotearoa) is the weekly New Zealand top 40 singles and albums charts, issued weekly by Recorded Music NZ (formerly Recording Industry Association of New Zealand).
