The Hemp Museum (album)
''The Hemp Museum'' is the second solo studio album by American rapper B-Legit. It was released on November 26, 1996 through Sick Wid It/Jive Records. Production was handled by Studio Ton, Mike Mosley, Kevin Gardner, Redwine, Femi Ojetunde, Emgee, Tone Capone and B-Legit himself, who also served as executive producer. It features guest appearances from C-Bo, Levitti, Celly Cel, Daryl Hall, E-40, Kurupt, A-1 and Funk Mobb among others. The album peaked at number 55 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and number 15 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums in the United States. Along with a single, a music video was released for the song "Check It Out" featuring E-40 and Kurupt. The song "Ghetto Smile" was later used in the 1997 film '' Dangerous Ground'' and also was released as a single and a music video to promote the film's soundtrack. Brandt Jones (born January 13, 1968), better known by his stage name B-Legit, is an American rapper from Vallejo, California. Early life Brandt "B-Legit" Jones graduated from General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo Senior High School on June 17, 1986. He was a member of the Vallejo High School marching band. Career Before he started his music career, he went to Grambling State University. He became a member of The Click, a rap group formed by his cousin E-40. Funk Mobb
Funk Mobb was an American, short lived rap group composed of Bay Area rappers, K-1, G-Note and Mac Shawn who were signed by Sick Wid It and Jive Records. They were only active from 1994 to 1998, first appearing on Little Bruce's debut album, XXXtra Mannish and then releasing their one and only album in 1996, ''It Ain't 4 Play''. It peaked at number 46 on the ''Billboard'' Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and at number 28 on the ''Billboard'' Top Heatseekers. After the album the group would disband with Mac Shawn releasing two albums, 1997's ''Music fo' the Mobb'' and 2001's ''Worldwide Bosses and Playas'' and even joining Death Row Records for a short while. Tha Dogg Pound
Tha Dogg Pound is an American hip hop duo made up of rappers Kurupt and Daz Dillinger. They were signed to Death Row Records in their early careers and were key to the label's success. Kurupt and Daz went on to release solo albums starting in 1998. They eventually left the crumbling Death Row Records in 1999. Daz left due to long-lasting internal struggles on the label after friend and labelmate Tupac Shakur's murder in 1996. Kurupt started Antra Records, while Daz and Soopafly started D.P.G. Recordz. In 2002 a feud arose between the two when Kurupt decided to sign back with Death Row Records, upsetting everyone involved with the group. His awaited Death Row release ''Against Tha Grain'' had been postponed several times while Kurupt was on the label, later being released in August 2005, after he was off.
