The Greenwich Trio
The Greenwich Trio is a classical piano trio formed in 2006. Its members are Lana Trotovšek (violin), Heather Tuach (cello), and Yoko Misumi (piano). The Greenwich Trio, described by cellist Bernard Greenhouse as the "New Beaux Arts Trio", was originally formed by pianist Yoko Misumi, Beethoven Society of Europe top prize-winner; Lana Trotovsek, a talent unveiled by Ruggiero Ricci’s at Salzburg's Mozarteum; and cellist Stjepan Hauser, last student of Mstislav Rostropovich and winner of 21 first prizes all over the world. The trio won series of first prizes in the international chamber music competitions in UK, Belgium and Italy. The Greenwich Trio received regular coaching from Bernard Greenhouse and Stephen Kovacevich, and has also received coaching from Beaux Arts Trio, Ivry Gitlis, Alban Berg Quartet, Wihan Quartet, The Schubert Ensemble, Israel Piano Trio, and Rivka Golani. Piano Trio
A piano trio is a group of piano and two other instruments, usually a violin and a cello, or a piece of music written for such a group. It is one of the most common forms found in classical chamber music. The term can also refer to a group of musicians who regularly play this repertoire together; for a number of well-known piano trios, see below. The term "piano trio" is also used for jazz trios, where it most commonly designates a pianist accompanied by bass and drums, though guitar or saxophone may figure as well. Form Works titled "Piano Trio" tend to be in the same overall shape as a sonata. Initially this was in the three movement form, though some of Haydn's have two movements. Mozart, in five late works, is generally credited with transforming the accompanied keyboard sonata, in which the essentially optional cello doubles the bass of the keyboard left hand, into the balanced trio which has since been a central form of chamber music. Stjepan Hauser
Stjepan Hauser (; born 15 June 1986), known professionally as HAUSER, is a Croatian cellist. He is a member of 2CELLOS, along with Luka Šulić. Early life and musical training Hauser was born in Pula, Croatia, into a musical family, where he began his musical education. His mother plays percussion. His sister is a journalist in Pula. Hauser finished secondary school in Rijeka. He studied in Zagreb but completed his undergraduate studies with Natalia Pavlutskaya at Trinity College of Music (now Trinity Laban) London. He completed his postgraduate studies with Ralph Kirshbaum as a Dorothy Stone Scholar at RNCM in Manchester and with Bernard Greenhouse in USA. Career Hauser has performed in more than 40 countries including debuts in Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Southbank Centre and many more. Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance is a music and dance conservatoire based in London, England. It was formed in 2005 as a merger of two older institutions – Trinity College of Music and Laban Dance Centre. The conservatoire has undergraduate and postgraduate students based at three campuses in Greenwich (Trinity), Deptford and New Cross (Laban). Rivka Golani ( he, רבקה גולני , born 22 March 1946) is a world–renowned Israeli-born viola player. She has performed as soloist with many orchestras throughout the world including the Boston Symphony, Calgary Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouw, BBC Symphony, BBC Philharmonic, Hong Kong Symphony, Singapore Symphony, Royal Philharmonic, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Israel Philharmonic, Tokyo Metropolitan, Montreal Symphony and the Toronto Symphony. Israel Piano Trio
The Israel Piano Trio ( he, שלישיית הפסנתר הישראלית) is a classical piano trio founded in 1972 by the pianist Alexander Volkov, the violinist Menahem Breuer, and the cellist Zvi Harell. Formation and members The Israel piano trio was founded in Israel in 1972 by Alexander Volkov (piano), Menahem Breuer (violin), and Zvi Harell (cello). Zvi Harell was later replaced with Marcel Bergman, and later by Hillel Zori. After the death of Alexander Volkov in 2006, the pianist Tomer Lev joined the trio. As of 2011, the members are Roglit Ishay (piano), Menahem Breuer (violin), and Hillel Zori (cello). Repertoire and recordings The trio's recordings include the complete piano trios of Brahms, Mendelssohn, Schubert and Schumann, as well as works by 20th century Israeli composers.
