The Good Youth
''The Good Youth'' is the second studio album by British alternative rock band Blitz Kids and was released on 17 January 2014. It is the first full feature album through the new label Red Bull Records. Composition and lyrics The band themselves have described the sound of the albums as being a "better" album compared to their previous efforts. When they streamed the full album on the Rocksound website, they described every tracks meanings, all of which are based around being an inspiring album. Critical reception Bring the Noise reviewer Tamsyn Wilce praised the album's range of power and soft elements, along with the cooperation of the vocals and the guitar riffs, although criticized the song ''Pinnacle'' for the poor use of vocals and "strange synths in the background", however went on to review the rest of the album positively. Blitz Kids (rock Band)
Blitz Kids were an English alternative rock band originating from Nantwich and Crewe, Cheshire, England. History The band was formed in 2006 by original members Joe James, Jono Yates, Nic Montgomery, Billy Evanson and Eddie Hawx. The band was initially named "Rig Up Explosive", but the name was changed to Blitz Kids in 2009. The name meaning was explained to be inspired by Joe's grandfather who was in a gang who named themselves 'Blitz Kids' during the events of World War II. The band released two EPs on LAB Records, ''Scavengers'' and ''Decisions'', prior to their debut album ''Vagrants and Vagabonds''. Evanson and Hawx left the band because of personal issues in 2012. Matt Freer joined the band on drums in later 2012 and they released a third EP entitled ''Never Die''. The band recorded their second album in the summer of 2013 in Los Angeles with John Feldmann. Anberlin
Anberlin is an American alternative rock band formed in Winter Haven, Florida in 2002. Since the beginning of 2007, the band consists of lead vocalist Stephen Christian, guitarists Joseph Milligan and Christian McAlhaney, bassist Deon Rexroat, and drummer Nathan Young. Members of Anberlin originally formed a band under the name SaGoh 24/7 in 1998, releasing two studio albums before disbanding, with the members having a change in musical direction and name. Anberlin was formed in 2002; within a year of forming, they had signed with semi-independent record label Tooth & Nail Records and released their debut album, ''Blueprints for the Black Market''. In 2005, the band released their second album, ''Never Take Friendship Personal''. The Official Charts (legal name: The Official UK Charts Company Limited) is a British inter-professional organization that compiles various "official" record charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland and France. In the United Kingdom, its charts include ones for singles, albums and films, with the data compiled from a mixture of downloads, purchases (of physical media) and streaming. UK Albums Chart
The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums) in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums book only including this data. Hadouken! (band)
Hadouken! are a British band formed in London in 2006 by singer, writer and producer James Smith and synth player Alice Spooner along with guitarist Daniel "Pilau" Rice, bassist Christopher Purcell and drummer Nick Rice. The band name is taken from the special attack of the same name from the ''Street Fighter'' video game series. It was in Leeds that Hadouken! began their own record label, Surface Noise Records. History Early years After forming the label, Smith began writing and demoing the first Hadouken! tracks. The Blackout are a post-hardcore band from Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, formed in 2003. They released their EP ''The Blackout! The Blackout! The Blackout!'' Mallory Knox were an English alternative rock band from Cambridge. In 2013, they released their debut album ''Signals'' which reached #33 in the UK album charts.
