The Good Son (album)
''The Good Son'' is the sixth album by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, released in 1990. After two dark and harrowing albums with '' Your Funeral... My Trial'' (1986) and ''Tender Prey'' (1988), ''The Good Son'' was a substantial departure with a lighter and generally more uplifting sound. The change of mood was greatly inspired by singer Nick Cave falling in love with Brazilian journalist Viviane Carneiro, and an apparently salutary spell in rehab which purged much of the despair and squalor reflected in the previous two albums. Cave later said, "I guess ''The Good Son'' is some kind of reflection of the way I felt early on in Brazil. I was quite happy there. I was in love and the first year or two was good. Shane Patrick Lysaght MacGowan (born 25 December 1957) is an Irish singer, songwriter, and musician. He is best known as the lead singer and songwriter of Celtic punk band the Pogues. He was also a member of the Nipple Erectors and Shane MacGowan and the Popes, as well as producing his own solo material and collaborating with artists such as Kirsty MacColl, Joe Strummer, Nick Cave, Steve Earle, Sinéad O'Connor, and Ronnie Drew. The Pogues
The Pogues were an English or Anglo-Irish Celtic punk band fronted by Shane MacGowan and others, founded in Kings Cross, London in 1982, as "Pogue Mahone" – the anglicisation of the Irish Gaelic ''póg mo thóin'', meaning "kiss my arse". The band reached international prominence in the 1980s and early 1990s, recording several hit albums and singles. MacGowan left the band in 1991 owing to drinking problems, but the band continued – first with Joe Strummer and then with Spider Stacy on vocals – before breaking up in 1996. The Pogues re-formed in late 2001, and played regularly across the UK and Ireland and on the US East Coast, until dissolving again in 2014. ''Wasted Youth'' is the fourth studio album by American metalcore band For the Fallen Dreams. It was released on July 17, 2012, and was produced by the band themselves and Tom Denney. It is their only album to be released through Artery Recordings since their departure from Rise Records (with whom they would later re-sign), as well as the first album by the band to feature bassist Brandon Stastny and the only record to feature Dylan Shippey on drums. It is also the last record by the band to feature guitarist Kalan Blehm and vocalist Dylan Richter, who featured on the two last records.
