Golden Square (Золотой Квадрат; Zolotoi Kvadrat) is a neighbourhood located in the city center of Almaty, Kazakhstan Kazakhstan, officially the Republic of Kazakhstan, is a transcontinental country located mainly in Central Asia and partly in Eastern Europe. It borders Russia to the north and west, China to the east, Kyrgyzstan to the southeast, Uzbeki .... It is considered a historical point in Almaty, and numerous prominent governmental buildings are currently located there. The area was originally a prominent area for Almaty's elite social classes, and numerous known poets, politicians, and musicians lived there. The architecture in the area includes Stalin-era houses with neo-Russian ornamentation and pastel-colored fronts. The square is bordered by the streets Jeltoqsan, Bogenbai, Kunaev, and Abai. Almaty
Almaty (; kk, Алматы; ), formerly known as Alma-Ata ( kk, Алма-Ата), is the List of most populous cities in Kazakhstan, largest city in Kazakhstan, with a population of about 2 million. Russian Revival Architecture
