The Freedom Sessions
''The Freedom Sessions'' is an album by Sarah McLachlan which was released on 6 December 1994 on Nettwerk in Canada and on 28 March 1995 on Arista Records in the United States. The album consisted primarily of previously unreleased alternative versions and remixes of McLachlan recordings, plus a cover version of "Ol' '55" by Tom Waits. Many of the tracks were recorded during the same sessions as McLachlan's 1993 album ''Fumbling Towards Ecstasy''. In subsequent live performances, some of these songs (most notably "Ice Cream" and "Hold On") were reworked to match the style in which they were played on this album. The album was released in two versions: a standard CD, and an enhanced CD containing CD-ROM bonus material including interviews and music videos. Sarah Ann McLachlan Order of Canada, OC Order of British Columbia, OBC (born January 28, 1968) is a Canadian singer-songwriter. As of 2015, she had sold over 40 million albums worldwide. McLachlan's best-selling album to date is ''Surfacing (album), Surfacing'', for which she won two Grammy Awards (out of four nominations) and four Juno Awards. Ashwin Sood
Ashwin Sood (born 25 September 1967) is an English–born Canadian musician and drummer. He is best known for his musical association with his ex-wife, Sarah McLachlan. Sood was born in the United Kingdom to Indian immigrant parents, and grew up in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He started playing the drums at age seven. In 1990 he graduated from California's Musicians Institute (Percussion Institute of Technology). In the early 1990s, he met McLachlan while on tour with Lava Hay. She asked him to play drums on "I Will Not Forget You" on her second album, ''Solace''. He has also played drums and produced songs for Bass is Base, Lava Hay, and Mae Moore. Camille Henderson is a Canadian pop singer. She played the role of Shirley in Sandy Wilson's 1985 Canadian film ''My American Cousin''.
