The Fighting Legion
''The Fighting Legion'' is a 1930 American pre-Code Western film directed by Harry Joe Brown and written by Bennett Cohen and Leslie Mason. The film stars Ken Maynard, Dorothy Dwan, Harry Todd, Frank Rice, Ernie Adams, and Stanley Blystone. The film was released on April 6, 1930, by Universal Pictures. Plot After being shot, dying Ranger Tom Dawson gives Dave Hayes his badge. When Dave Hayes arrives at Bowden to turn in the badge, he is mistaken as a Ranger. Suspicious of him, Blake and Bowle tries to put the shooting of Ranger Dawson on Dave Hayes. After fighting the gang led by Blake, Dave Hayes saves Molly and gets sworn in as a Texas Ranger. Harry Joe Brown
Harry Joe Brown (September 22, 1890 – April 28, 1972) was an American film producer, and earlier a theatre and film director. Biography Harry Joe Brown was born in 1890 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As a producer, he had a partnership with director Budd Boetticher, actor Randolph Scott and screenwriter Burt Kennedy, which generated a series of five westerns between 1957 and 1960 ('' The Tall T, Decision at Sundown, Buchanan Rides Alone, Ride Lonesome, Comanche Station'') via a company he created with Scott which eventually became known as Ranown Pictures Corp. He produced the American debut films of both Errol Flynn in '' Captain Blood'' and Sean Flynn in ''Son of Captain Blood''.
