''The Fiction We Live'' is the second studio album by the American post-hardcore band From Autumn to Ashes. It was produced by Garth Richardson and released September 9, 2003, through Vagrant Records. Melanie Wills of One True Thing makes a guest appearance once again, contributing to the vocals on "Autumns Monologue." This is the last album to feature Scott Gross and Mike Pilato. It peaked at number 73 on the ''US ''Billboard'' 200'' charts. Videos Three music videos were produced for ''The Fiction We Live'': "The After Dinner Payback", "Lilacs & Lolita," and "Milligram Smile." They aired on ''Headbangers Ball'' upon release. Musical style The album features more clean vocals than the previous album, '' Too Bad You're Beautiful''. From Autumn To Ashes
From Autumn to Ashes is a post-hardcore band based in Long Island, New York. The group formed in 2000 under the name Who's to Blame. While the band had gone through many line-up changes, the members include Francis Mark (lead vocals, drums), Scott Gross (guitars), Benjamin Perri (screamed vocals), Brian Deneeve (guitars, backing vocals), Stephen Salvio (guitars), Josh Newton (bass guitar, backing vocals), Mike Pilato (bass guitar, backing vocals), Rob Lauritsen (guitars), Jonathan Cox (guitars) and Jeff Gretz (drums, backing vocals). Scott Gross
Scott Gross is an American musician, guitarist, composer, producer, audio engineer and writer known as a member of the band From Autumn To Ashes and owner and founder of Hit And Run Studios in Long Island, New York. Before From Autumn To Ashes he was in a local band called Who's To Blame with Francis Mark. Gross was one of the songwriters in From Autumn To Ashes and also wrote lyrics for the first two albums along with Perri and Mark. He also is named as a producer on Jordan White’s 2016 EP “High Road.” Musical career Scott entered music after listening to the Pearl Jam album Ten and his mom bought him an electric guitar for Christmas. Howie Weinberg is an American audio mastering engineer with over 2,257 mastering credits, three TEC Awards, 21 Grammy Awards, two Juno Awards, and one Mercury Prize. Career Weinberg mastered Herbie Hancock's 1983 album ''Future Shock''. Other mastering works include the Beastie Boys' ''Licensed to Ill'' and Nirvana's ''Nevermind''. Weinberg began working in the mail room at Masterdisk in 1979, delivering recording tapes in New York City. Mastering engineer Bob Ludwig acted as his mentor. Francis Mark is an American drummer, singer, guitarist, songwriter and artist known as a member of the bands From Autumn to Ashes, Warship, Biology, and Tidal Arms. Mark currently resides in Brooklyn, New York and plays with Tidal Arms. Before From Autumn To Ashes, he was in a local band named Who's to Blame with Scott Gross. Mark has also filled in for vocalist Jeffrey Moreira at a handful of Poison the Well shows in September 2001 and played drums for Reggie and the Full Effect in 2008.
