The Exies
The Exies were an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1997. Their name, "The Exies", is short for "The Existentialists". Their two Virgin Records releases, ''Inertia'' (2003) and ''Head for the Door'' (2004), have sold over 400,000 copies combined. History The Exies formed in 1997 when singer and guitarist Scott Stevens drafted bassist Freddy Herrera and drummer Thom Sullivan to form a new group. Stevens' friend Chris Skane played guitar in an early incarnation of The Exies, but left citing other priorities. Skane was then replaced by guitarist David Walsh. Stevens picked the name "The Exies" from a John Lennon biography, stating on Rockline (11/9/2002) that it was the only Beatles-related name left that was not taken. ''Inertia'' is the second studio album by American rock band The Exies, released on January 7, 2003. The video to the first single "My Goddess" was directed by hip hop video director Diane Martel. The concept of the video revolved around the band playing in front of oncoming traffic- some of which were doing speeds as high as 70 miles an hour. "My Goddess" was filmed on Highway 2 in Los Angeles County in the fall of 2002. It is their most successful album, reaching #115 on the ''Billboard'' 200. ''Inertia'' and their next studio album ''Head for the Door'' have sold over a combined 400,000 units. MTV2 (formerly M2) is an American pay television Cable television, channel owned by the Paramount Media Networks division of Paramount Global. The channel launched initially as an all-music video service, once the original MTV had started to shift its programming. As with its parent network, MTV2's focus on music programming would gradually be downplayed during the 2000s. By 2011, MTV2 would primarily target young adult men with original and acquired lifestyle and reality programming, reruns of male-targeting shows from MTV, acquired sitcoms and movies, and a daily block of Hip hop music, hip hop and Rock music, rock genre videos in the early mornings. EA Sports is a division of Electronic Arts that develops and publishes sports video games.
