The Dream Catchers
The Dream-Catchers (Simplified Chinese: 未来不是梦) is a Singaporean Chinese modern romance drama which was telecasted on Singapore's free-to-air channel, MediaCorp Channel 8. It stars Rui En, Tay Ping Hui, Jesseca Liu, Shaun Chen, Elvin Ng, Paige Chua, Nat Ho & Dawn Yeoh as the casts of the series. It made its debut on 4 February 2009 and ended on 3 March 2009. This drama serial consists of 20 episodes, and was screened on every weekday night at 9:00 pm. This drama is known for having cast members consisting mainly of young actors and actresses, and travelled to Japan and Bintan for filming. The Economic Development Board is the main sponsor for this series. Loh Rui En (born 29 January 1981), better known by her stage name Rui En (瑞恩), is a Singaporean actress and was named as one of the Seven Princesses of Mediacorp in 2006. She was under contract of MediaCorp and managed under Hype Records. Early life Rui En was born on 29 January 1981 to a family consisting of her father, a property agent, and mother, a housewife. Her parents divorced when she was 17, and subsequently remarried to other persons when she in her 20s. Lin Meijiao () is a Singaporean actress. Life and career Lin was educated at Ahmad Ibrahim Secondary School. Lin has acted in many drama serials and is a multi-nominee for the Best Supporting Actress category at the annual Star Awards. Desmond Tan (, born 19 August 1986) is a Singaporean actor and was named as one of the 8 Dukes of Caldecott Hill. Li Wenhai (, born ) is a veteran Singaporean actor. He has acted in various Singaporean television dramas. Career In 1981, Li joined Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (SBC). In August 1991, after filming ''Jealousy Potion 100'', Li applied to have an early termination to his acting contract with SBC and to transfer to the voice dubbing department. After eight months, in April 1992, he resigned from SBC. After leaving SBC, Li opened a shop with friends selling Buddhist equipment at Balestier Shopping Center. The shop was eventually closed down in 1988 after the shop lease had finished and business was poor. Li was then invited by the producer and writer of ''Riding the Storm'' to act in the drama.
