''The Dollyrots'' is the fourth studio album by the Los Angeles–based pop-punk band The Dollyrots, released on Arrested Youth Records in 2012. According to an article on Yahoo! by Jason Tanamor, the band used a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to record and release the album. Their original goal was to raise $7,500 but they ended up raising over $33,000. The Dollyrots
The Dollyrots are an American punk rock band formed in 2000, composed of wife Kelly Ogden (bass, lead vocals) and husband Luis Cabezas (guitar, backing vocals). They have released six studio albums and are currently under their own label, Arrested Youth Records. They have also released albums under Panic Button (part of Lookout! Records), Joan Jett's Blackheart Records, Little Steven's Wicked Cool Records. Biography Formation Bassist/lead vocalist Kelly Ogden and guitarist Luis Cabezas have known each other since meeting in the eighth grade in Land o' Lakes, Florida. They both attended New College of Florida where they formed a band called No Chef with friends Josh Harrold and Mike Benbow. Ogden and Cabezas played the guitar while Harrold was the bassist/lead vocalist and Benbow was the drummer. Pop Punk
Pop punk (or punk pop) is a rock music genre that combines elements of punk rock with power pop or pop. John Fields (born September 11, 1968) is an American record producer, recording engineer, mixer and musician. Fields has produced for a number of musical artists, including the Jonas Brothers, Switchfoot, Pink, Har Mar Superstar, Miley Cyrus, Ben Rector, Andrew W.K., Busted and Demi Lovato. He also has played a number of musical instruments on various albums, and even occasionally performed live with bands such as Nick Jonas & the Administration, Soul Asylum, and The Rembrandts. ''A Little Messed Up'' is the third studio album by pop-punk band The Dollyrots. It was released on August 17, 2010 on Blackheart Records. Reception The Allmusic review by Tim Sendra awarded the album 3.5 stars stating "The Dollyrots' third album takes the California trio one step further away from the punky sound of their 2004 debut record on Lookout and toward the mainstream... Many of the songs are uptempo and almost fiery, but on the whole, the record is more cuddly than dangerous. Basically, they've tipped the balance on the pop-punk scale completely to the pop side, and anyone looking for a record that has some bite or holds any surprises might want to look elsewhere. Kay Hanley is an American singer and songwriter. She is best known as the vocalist for the alternative rock band Letters to Cleo. Life and career Hanley grew up in Dorchester, Massachusetts across the street from the Wahlberg family. She attended school at St. Gregory's and Latin Academy.
