The Dogmatics
The Dogmatics are a rock band from Boston, Massachusetts, United States, formed in the 1980s. They still play local venues and released their first new recordings in over 30 years on Rum Bar Records in 2019. Biography The band was formed in Boston by Paul O'Halloran, his twin brother Pete, longtime friend Jerry Lehane, cousin of the crime fiction author Dennis Lehane, who had known the brothers since first grade at St. Matthew's Catholic school in Dorchester, Massachusetts some years earlier, and Dan Shannon on drums. The band played one show under the name "Guttersnipes" at their loft on Boston's Thayer Street, before renaming themselves as The Dogmatics, playing their first show under this name at Cantones in 1981. They played throughout Boston for the next year, before Shannon went to college and was replaced by 18-year-old Thomas Long. Dash Rip Rock is an American rock band. Originally playing rockabilly and country music, the band is best known for its cowpunk sound, which mixes punk rock, rockabilly, hard rock, country and boogie. John Goetchius
John "JG" Goetchius is an American keyboardist, best known for his work with Boston ska-core band The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Career Born and raised in Massachusetts, Goetchius played keys for a number of Boston bands throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including The Dogmatics, Matweeds and Atomic Cocktail. He was also a member of the ska band Mission Impossible, who made their recorded debut alongside The Mighty Mighty Bosstones on the 1987 ska compilation ''Mash It Up!''. Goetchius first recorded with the Bosstones on their 1995 album '' Question the Answers'', and since continues to contribute keyboards for the band's albums and occasionally their live shows. He recorded organ for the majority of tracks on the Bosstones' 2009 album '' Pin Points and Gin Joints'' and has recently made continued appearances in the band's concerts, television performances and publicity photos, though has not yet been confirmed as an official member. WMBR
WMBR is the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's student-run college radio station, licensed to Cambridge, Massachusetts, and broadcasting on 88.1 FM. It is all-volunteer and funded by listener donations and MIT funds. Neats
Neat and scruffy are two contrasting approaches to artificial intelligence (AI) research. The distinction was made in the 70s and was a subject of discussion until the middle 80s. In the 1990s and 21st century AI research adopted "neat" approaches almost exclusively and these have proven to be the most successful. "Neats" use algorithms based on formal paradigms such as logic, mathematical optimization or neural networks. Yoke lutes, commonly called lyres, are a class of string instruments, subfamily of lutes, indicated with the code 321.2 in the Hornbostel–Sachs classification. Long Ryders
The Long Ryders are an American alternative country and Paisley Underground band, principally active between 1982 and 1987, who have periodically regrouped for brief reunions (2004, 2009, 2014, 2016). Dinosaur Jr
Dinosaur Jr. is an American rock band formed in Amherst, Massachusetts, in 1984, originally simply called Dinosaur until legal issues forced a change in name. The band was founded by J Mascis (guitar, vocals, primary songwriter), Lou Barlow (bass, vocals), and Murph (drums). After three albums on independent labels, the band earned a reputation as one of the formative influences on American alternative rock. Creative tension led to Mascis firing Barlow, who later formed Sebadoh and Folk Implosion. His replacement, Mike Johnson, came aboard for three major-label albums.
