Whitesnake
Whitesnake are an English hard rock band formed in London in 1978. The group was originally put together as the backing band for singer David Coverdale, who had recently left Deep Purple. Though the band quickly developed into their own entity, Coverdale is the only constant member throughout their history. Whitesnake enjoyed much success in the UK, Europe and Japan through their early years. Their albums ''Ready an' Willing'', ''Come an' Get It'' and ''Saints & Sinners (Whitesnake album), Saints & Sinners'' all reached the top ten on the UK Albums Chart. By the mid-1980s, however, Coverdale had set his sights on breaking through in North America, where Whitesnake remained largely unknown. With the backing of American label Geffen Records, Whitesnake released their Whitesnake (album), eponymous album in 1987, which became their biggest success to date, selling over eight million copies in the US and spawning the hit singles "Here I Go Again" and "Is This Love (Whitesnake song) ...

Still Of The Night (song)
"Still of the Night" is a song by the English band Whitesnake. It was released as the first single from their self titled 1987 album. It reached #16 in the U.K., #18 on the U.S. Mainstream rock Tracks and #79 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. One of them was a song that Ritchie Blackmore and I had been working on which was the basic premise of what would become "Still of the Night". It was totally unrecognizable, so Ritchie doesn't have anything to worry about... neither do I! Ha ha ha! I took it as far as I could then I gave it to Sykes when we were in the sou ...

Overview Coverdale commented on the origins of the song in ''Slip of the Tongue'' 20th anniversary edition liner notes by saying:"The Deeper the Love" came from a chorus sequence I'd had for some time, written, if memory serves, in my dear friend Tony Z's house, many years ago... then my little Dutch brother, Adrian, came along and put the musical icing on the cake, and gave me the verse chord sequence. I finished writing it in Tahiti ..very early in the morning with the sun rising over the Pacific. "The Deeper the Love" was released as the album's second single in early 1990. It was a Top 40 chart success in the UK, the US, Canada and Ireland. It also reached number 4 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks charts in the US. The song was performed in its original form for th ...

In ''Firecracker'' magazine, Coverdale said: ''"You can look at my first marriage and see "Fool for Your Loving" and " Don't Break My Heart Again." Slow An' Easy
"Slow an' Easy" is a song by the English rock band Whitesnake from their 1984 album '' Slide It In''. The album provided the group with a commercial breakthrough in the United States, and this specific song, which was released as a promo single, became a hit on rock radio. "Slow an' Easy" and " Love Ain't No Stranger" reached #17 and #34 on '' Billboard's'' Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, respectively. Background The song was co-written by singer David Coverdale and guitarist Micky Moody, who was the only original member, besides Coverdale, left in the band. Moody was possibly the one that influenced the bluesy style of "Slow An' Easy"; most of the material on ''Slide It In'' took influence from contemporary glam metal in terms of sound, in contrast to the earlier, blues rock based albums of the band. In 25th Anniversary Edition of ''Slide It In'', Coverdale comments on the songs recording by saying: ''"Slow & Easy was recorded at 4 in the morning in Munich after a serious n ...

Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Some of the earliest hard rock music was produced by the Kinks, the Who, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Cream, Vanilla Fudge, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. In the late 1960s, bands such as Blue Cheer, the Jeff Beck Group, Iron Butterfly, Led Zeppelin, Golden Earring, Steppenwolf and Deep Purple also produced hard rock. The genre developed into a major form of popular music in the 1970s, with the Who, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple being joined by Queen, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Kiss, and Van Halen. During the 1980s, some hard rock bands moved away from their hard rock roots and more towards pop rock.V. Bogdanov, C. Woodstra and S. T.
