"Fool for Your Loving" is a song recorded by British hard rock band Whitesnake. Originally released on their 1980 album ''Ready an' Willing'', it was re-recorded for their 1989 album ''Slip of the Tongue''. Background and Recording The song was Co-written by David Coverdale, Bernie Marsden and Micky Moody and was inspired by the breakup of Coverdale's first marriage. In ''Firecracker'' magazine, Coverdale said: ''"You can look at my first marriage and see "Fool for Your Loving" and "Don't Break My Heart Again." A lot of those were fueled by songs about a relationship that once was very positive but sadly was unfolding into not positive."'' The song was originally written for blues legend B. B. King. Whitesnake are an English hard rock band formed in London in 1978. The group was originally put together as the backing band for singer David Coverdale, who had recently left Deep Purple. Though the band quickly developed into their own entity, Coverdale is the only constant member throughout their history. Steven Siro Vai (; born June 6, 1960) is an American guitarist, composer, songwriter, and producer. John Douglas Lord (9 June 194116 July 2012) was an English orchestral and rock composer, pianist, and Hammond organ player known for his pioneering work in fusing rock with classical or baroque forms, especially with the British rock band Deep Purple. He also spent time in the bands Whitesnake, Paice Ashton Lord, The Artwoods, The Flower Pot Men and Santa Barbara Machine Head. Philip Neil Murray (born 27 August 1950) is a Scottish bass player, noted for his collaboration with Whitesnake, Brian May's band, Black Sabbath and with Gary Moore. Career Early days Originally a drummer who started playing bass in 1967, Murray formed his first band with school friends in 1967 (Slap Happy and the Dum-Dums).
