The Crusader (1932 Film)
''The Crusader'' is a 1932 American pre-Code drama film based upon the play of the same name by Wilson Collison, directed by Frank R. Strayer, and starring Evelyn Brent. Plot A pushy newspaper reporter Eddie Crane (Ned Sparks) schemes to get rid of crusading District Attorney Phillip Brandon (H. B. Warner). Walter Byron (actor)
Walter Byron (11 June 1899 – 2 March 1972) was an English film actor. Biography He starred opposite Gloria Swanson in the 1929 film ''Queen Kelly'' and appeared in more than 60 films between 1926 and 1942. He first sailed to the United States on the R.M.S. ''Aquitania'' under contract with Samuel Goldwyn Productions, in 1928. In 1932, in order to gain permanent legal immigrant status, he crossed the border at Calexico into Mexico and then reentered the United States there under the new status. Lloyd Chauncey Ingraham (November 30, 1874 – April 4, 1956) was an American film actor and director. Biography Born in Rochelle, Illinois, Ingraham appeared in more than 280 films between 1912 and 1950, as well as directing more than 100 films between 1913 and 1930. Films for which he is known include ''Scaramouche'' (1923), ''The Padrone's Ward'' (1914) and '' Rainbow Valley'' (1935). He performed in several films with John Wayne including '' Rainbow Valley'' (1935), '' Empty Saddles'' (1936), '' Westward Ho'' (1935), ''The Lonely Trail'' (1936) and ''Conflict'' (1936). Arthur Hoyt (March 19, 1874 – January 4, 1953) was an American film character actor who appeared in more than 275 films in his 34-year film career, about a third of them silent films. Career Born in Georgetown, Colorado, in 1874, Hoyt made his Broadway debut in 1905 in ''The Prince Consort''. He also appeared in Ferenc Molnár's ''The Devil'' in 1908, and made his final Broadway appearance in ''The Great Name'' in 1911. Hoyt made the silent comedy short ''The Scrub Lady'' in 1914, but his film acting career did not begin in earnest until 1916 when he appeared in another short, ''The Heart of a Show Girl''.
