The Crash Of '47
''The Crash of '47'' is the first studio album released by the American alternative metal band Atomship. It was released on May 4, 2004 and was produced by Dave Fortman (Evanescence, Superjoint Ritual). The song " Time for People" was released on the Wind-Up soundtrack for the movie The Punisher. Two singles were released from ''The Crash of '47'': "Pencil Fight" and "Withered". Atomship Atomship started out as Watership Down, containing Nathan Slade and Chad Kent, both of whom played on The Crash of '47, and Derek Pardoe, who only wrote songs for the album. After the name change to Atomship, Joey Culver subbed as the lead vocalist, while Pardoe had personal troubles while he dealt with anxiety problems and as a result was unable to participate. Atomship
Atomship (formerly known as Watership Down and AtomshipDown) is a four-piece American alternative metal band that was most recently composed of Joey Culver, Chad Kent, Roy Williams, and Jared Slade (brother of Nathan Slade). They are best known for their 2004 single "Pencil Fight". Nathan Slade was the band's original guitarist and songwriter until his tragic death in December 2009. The band was known as Watership Down in 2002, before changing their name due to copyright to Atomship that year. Due to original vocalist Derek Pardoe's anxiety, Joey Culver took over his place as lead singer, and for the recording of their debut album ''The Crash of '47'', released in 2004. Atomship later broke up after the death of Nathan Slade. This led to the band's disbandment later that year. Wind-up Entertainment was an American independent record label founded by Alan and Diana Meltzer in 1997. It was based in New York City and was distributed by BMG Distribution. Wind-up's best-selling artists worldwide were Creed and Evanescence. Dave Fortman
Dave Fortman (born July 11, 1967) is an American record producer and musician. He is the guitarist for rock band Ugly Kid Joe, and has worked with bands such as Superjoint Ritual, Snot, Atomship, Eyehategod, Mudvayne, Otep, Slipknot (on their fourth studio album, titled ''All Hope Is Gone''), and Simple Plan, as well as on both of Evanescence's multi-platinum selling albums ''The Open Door'' and ''Fallen''. Early years Fortman was born in Orlando, Florida. His mother Marge Ann Singleton Fortman was a Kindergarten teacher and his father Jon Richey Fortman a retired Biology Professor. His early musical years were developed in Covington Louisiana where he was in jr high school marching band as a trumpet player. Superjoint, formerly known as Superjoint Ritual, was an American Heavy metal music, heavy metal band. History The band was formed by Phil Anselmo, Joe Fazzio, and Jimmy Bower in the early 1990s, later to be joined by Hank Williams III and Kevin Bond. They were founded by Anselmo parallel to his membership in Pantera, but became a full-time endeavor a few years later after Pantera's dissolution.
