The Club At Snoqualmie Ridge
The Club at Snoqualmie Ridge is a private golf club in the northwest United States, located in Snoqualmie, Washington, east of Seattle, at the foothills of the Cascade Range. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the championship golf course opened in 1999 and was formerly a member of the Tournament Players Club network operated by the PGA Tour. Since 2005, it has hosted the Boeing Classic, a 54-hole PGA Tour Champions event in late August. When the project was initially announced in 1986, the course was to be designed by Rees Jones. The club left the TPC network in 2016 and was renamed "The Club at Snoqualmie Ridge" in December. Snoqualmie ( ) is a city next to Snoqualmie Falls in King County, Washington, United States. It is east of Seattle. Snoqualmie city is home to the Northwest Railway Museum. The population was 10,670 at the 2010 census and an estimated 13,622 in 2019. Thomas Wayne Jenkins (born December 14, 1947) is an American professional golfer. Born in Houston, Texas, Jenkins attended the University of Houston, where he was a member of the NCAA University Division championship team in 1970, led by John Mahaffey. The 2006 Champions Tour was the 27th season for the golf tour now known as PGA Tour Champions since it officially began in 1980 as the Senior PGA Tour. The season consisted of 28 official money events with purses totalling $50,950,000, including five majors. One other tournament, the Bank of America Championship, with a purse of $1,600,000, was canceled due to severe weather. Jay Haas and Loren Roberts won the most tournaments, four. Scott William Simpson (born September 17, 1955) is an American professional golfer. Amateur career Simpson was born in San Diego, California, and played college golf at the University of Southern California, where he was two-time medalist at the NCAA Championship in 1976 and 1977. At the end of 1976 ''Golf Digest'' ranked Simpson the #1 amateur in the country. Professional career He turned professional in 1977 and graduated in 1978. He played on the PGA Tour from 1979, and won seven PGA Tour events between 1980 and 1998. Rees Jones (born September 16, 1941) is an American golf course architect. Life and career Born and raised in Montclair, New Jersey, the son of legendary golf course designer Robert Trent Jones and the younger brother of golf course designer Robert Trent Jones, Jr., he attended Montclair High School. His first exposure to golf course design came as a boy when he would accompany his father surveying courses. PGA Tour Champions (formerly the Senior PGA Tour and the Champions Tour) is a men's professional senior golf tour, administered as a branch of the PGA Tour. History and format The Senior PGA Championship, founded in 1937, was for many years the only high-profile tournament for golfers over 50.
