The Championship At Laguna National
The Ballantine's Championship (known as The Championship at Laguna National in its final year) was a European Tour golf tournament which was played from 2008 to 2014. It was the first European Tour event to be staged in South Korea. From 2008 to 2010, the tournament was played at Pinx Golf Club on the island of Jeju. From 2011 to 2013, the tournament was played at Blackstone Golf Club. In 2014, the event has moved to Laguna National Golf & CC in Singapore and titled as The Championship at Laguna National. The tournament was announced in July 2007 by the European Tour in partnership with the Korean PGA, marking a continuation of the European Tour's expansion into Asia. 2012 European Tour
The 2012 European Tour was the fourth edition of the Race to Dubai and the 41st season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972. The season comprised 45 tournaments counting for the Race to Dubai, including the four major championships and four World Golf Championships, and one team competition. The season began in January with the Africa Open in South Africa, culminating with the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai in November. The Race to Dubai was won by Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy, who also collected the Golfer of the Year award having also headed the PGA Tour money list and ascended to the top of the Official World Golf Ranking during 2012. Peter Whiteford
Peter William Whiteford (born 3 August 1980) is a Scottish professional golfer. Whiteford was born in Kirkcaldy. He turned professional in 2002. Whiteford won twice on PGA EuroPro Tour from 2002 to 2003 and has played on the Challenge and European Tours since then. He won twice on the Challenge Tour in 2007 and once in 2009. Since 2010, he has established himself on the European Tour and Challenge tour. As of 2019, Whiteford is a golf coach focused on performance and the short game. Marcus Fraser (golfer)
Marcus Fraser (born 26 July 1978) is an Australian professional golfer who plays on the European Tour, PGA Tour of Australasia and Asian Tour. Career Born in Corowa, New South Wales, Fraser spent his early years working at a supermarket. He completed a distinguished amateur career in 2002, finishing as the top individual in the Eisenhower Trophy world teams event. He turned professional in 2002 and completed his first seasons playing on Europe's second tier Challenge Tour. In 2003, he won three tournaments in one month, the Danish Open, the Talma Finnish Challenge and the Russian Open, which was also a European Tour event. Brett Michael Rumford (born 27 July 1977) is an Australian professional golfer who plays on the European Tour, having formerly been a member on both the PGA Tour and PGA Tour of Australasia. Early life Rumford was born and grew up in Perth, Western Australia. He started playing golf at age ten. Rumford represented Australia in amateur golf. The 2013 European Tour was the fifth edition of the Race to Dubai and the 42nd season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972. Sweden's Henrik Stenson won the Race to Dubai and was named Golfer of the Year. Peter Uihlein of the United States was the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year. David Lipsky (golfer)
David Lipsky (born July 14, 1988) is an American professional golfer. Lipsky played college golf at Northwestern University where he was an All-American and won the 2010 Big Ten individual championship. Lipsky turned professional after graduating in 2011. He joined the Asian Tour in 2012 and won the Handa Faldo Cambodian Classic in his third start on the tour. In 2014 he won the Omega European Masters, a European Tour event co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour; he went on to win the 2014 Asian Tour Order of Merit. Since that victory, he has competed predominantly on the European Tour and won for the second time at the Alfred Dunhill Championship in 2018. Anders Hansen
Anders Rosenberg Hansen (born 16 September 1970) is a semi-retired Danish professional golfer. Career Hansen was born in Sønderborg, Denmark. He turned professional in 1995. It took him a few years to establish himself on the European Tour, with his first top 116 Order of Merit finish (the level a player requires to automatically regain his card) coming in 1999. His maiden European Tour victory was the 2002 Volvo PGA Championship and he finished in the top 60 on the Order of Merit every year from 2000 to 2012, with a best of seventh in 2011.
