Oasis Academy Lister Park (formerly The Challenge College) is a mixed secondary school and sixth form located in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. The school is named after Lister Park which is located near the school campus. Previously a community school administered by Bradford City Council, The Challenge College converted to academy status on 1 September 2013 and was renamed Oasis Academy Lister Park. The school is now sponsored by the Oasis Trust but continues to coordinate with Bradford City Council for admissions. The schools current principal, Sian Dover, assumed her role in 2020 after her predecessor, Ian Simpson, moved to another academy within the trust. The school enjoyed a positive Ofsted in February 2019, where it was graded as a good school and the then principal praised for transforming the school. Knowledge Organiser
A knowledge organiser is an educational template on a single A4 sheet consisting of grids, each with a term and a short explanation, making it clear to the student as to what is essential to learn. Each grid has an overall theme and these vary according to the subject being taught. The term became well known throughout social media, and its creation and popularity has been credited to previous Michaela Community School teacher, Joe Kirby. Origins and use In 2015, Michaela Community School teacher, Joe Kirby, wrote a blog detailing the value of listing, on one side of A4 paper, key points to learn. He coined the template a knowledge organiser. To construct a knowledge organiser, the unit of study and the content requiring to be taught needs to be identified. Carlton Bolling College is a co-educational secondary school, located in Bradford in West Yorkshire, England. It has more than 1,400 pupils. It is situated just off ''Otley Road'' ( A658). History There were originally two single-sex grammar schools. Carlton Grammar School (for boys) was on ''Manor Row'' in Carlton House. The former school site was destroyed in a fire in 1949. Bolling Girls' Grammar School opened in 1931 on Sheridan Street' next to Bolling Hall, although the address later became ''Flockton Road'' in East Bowling. Beckfoot Upper Heaton (formerly Belle Vue Boys' School) is a co-educational secondary school in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. It is situated near the Hallmark Cards factory, not far from Bingley Road ( B6269).
