Currensy
Shante Scott Franklin (born April 4, 1981), better known by his stage name Currensy (often stylized as Curren$y), is an American rapper. In 2011, he founded the label Jet Life Recordings. Music career 2002–2008: No Limit and Young Money In 2002, Currensy was signed to Master P's No Limit Records and was a late addition to the 504 Boyz. The song "Get Back" by 504 Boyz, produced by Donald XL Robertson, was featured on the 2003 film ''Malibu's Most Wanted'' soundtrack. Currensy appeared on 5 songs in Master P's '' Good Side, Bad Side'' album. Even though he was signed with No Limit, he represented C-Murder's TRU label. Currensy has several songs with C-Murder, and was featured on the late Soulja Slim's album, ''Years Later'' (2002). Alan Daniel Maman (born October 25, 1977), professionally known as the Alchemist (or simply Alchemist), is an American record producer, DJ, rapper and songwriter.Brown, Marisa "[ The Alchemist Biography]", Allmusic, Macrovision Corporation He began his music career in 1991 in the hip hop duo The Whooliganz under the moniker Mudfoot, along with now-actor Scott Caan (whose moniker was "Mad Skillz"). Covert Coup
''Covert Coup'' is the first collaboration mixtape by rapper Currensy and producer The Alchemist. The mixtape featured guest appearances from rappers Prodigy of Mobb Deep, Freddie Gibbs, Smoke DZA and Fiend and contains ten songs. ''Covert Coup'' was created as a retail EP. Later, the artists decided to release it as a free digital mixtape. On April 7, 2011, the first single from ''Covert Coup'' titled "Ventilation" was leaked onto the internet. "Full Metal" was leaked on April 12. On April 15, the third single entitled "Scottie Pippen" featuring Freddie Gibbs, was leaked. The mixtape was announced by Currensy on April 20, 2011, via his Twitter. On May 8, 2012, the Alchemist released ''Covert Coup Instrumentals'', a project that includes the instrumental version of every track in the mixtape. Rapping
Rapping (also rhyming, spitting, emceeing or MCing) is a musical form of vocal delivery that incorporates "rhyme, rhythmic speech, and street vernacular".
