''The Capitol Years 1995–2007'' (also released as ''The Best of the Capitol Years 1995–2007'') is a greatest hits album by American alternative rock band The Dandy Warhols. It was released in the UK on July 19, 2010, and in the United States on August 24, 2010. It comprises their years with Capitol Records, before the band left the label and started their own, Beat the World ''Beat the World'' (also known as ''You Got Served: Beat the World'') is a 2011 Canadian dance film written and directed by Robert Adetuyi. It is a loose sequel to the American film ''You Got Served'' (2004). It was produced by InnerCity Films and .... It also features one original composition, "This Is the Tide," for which three different music videos were produced. The Dandy Warhols are an American alternative rock band, formed in Portland, Oregon, in 1994 by singer-guitarist Courtney Taylor-Taylor and guitarist Peter Holmström. They were later joined by keyboardist Zia McCabe and drummer Eric Hedford. Hedford left in 1998 and was replaced by Taylor-Taylor's cousin Brent DeBoer. The band's name is a play on the name of American pop artist Andy Warhol. The band gained recognition after they were signed to Capitol Records and released their major label album debut, '' ...The Dandy Warhols Come Down'', in 1997. In 2001, the band rose to new levels of fame after their song "Bohemian Like You" enjoyed extensive exposure due to being featured in a Vodafone advertisement. ''...The Dandy Warhols Come Down'' is the second studio album by American rock band The Dandy Warhols. It was released on July 15, 1997, by Capitol. Three singles were released from the album: " Not If You Were the Last Junkie on Earth", "Every Day Should Be a Holiday" and "Boys Better". This is the final studio album to feature drummer Eric Hedford, who quit the band during the tour, and was replaced with Taylor-Taylor's cousin Brent DeBoer. Evan Griffith Dando (born March 4, 1967) is an American musician and frontman of the Lemonheads. He has also embarked on a solo career and collaborated on songs with various artists. In December 2015 Dando was inducted into the Boston Music Awards Hall of Fame. Biography Early life and education Dando was born in Essex, Massachusetts, on Boston's North Shore, to Susan, a former fashion model, and Jeffrey, who worked as a real estate attorney.
