Al Jazeera English (AJE; ar, الجزيرة, translit=al-jazīrah, , literally "The Peninsula", referring to the Qatar Peninsula) is an international 24-hour English-language news channel owned by the Al Jazeera Media Network, which is owned by the monarchy government of Qatar. It is the first English-language news channel to be headquartered in the Middle East. Instead of being run centrally, news management rotates between broadcasting centres in Doha and London. History The channel was launched on 15 November 2006, at 12:00 PM GMT. It had aimed to begin broadcasting in June 2006 but had to postpone its launch because its HDTV technology was not yet ready. Fauziah Ibrahim is a Singaporean Australians, Singaporean Australian news presenter. Career Ibrahim started her career as a producer and presenter at ''6AM RadioWest'', then as a reporter for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in Perth, Western Australia, Perth. She later worked as a producer and presenter for CNA938, NewsRadio 93.8 in Singapore and as anchor, producer and reporter for ''Channel i (Singaporean TV channel), Channel i News''. Tunisian Revolution
The Tunisian Revolution, also called the Jasmine Revolution, was an intensive 28-day campaign of civil resistance. It included a series of street demonstrations which took place in Tunisia, and led to the ousting of longtime president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali in January 2011. It eventually led to a thorough democratisation of the country and to free and democratic elections. The demonstrations were caused by high unemployment, food inflation, corruption, a lack of political freedoms (such as freedom of speech) and poor living conditions. The protests constituted the most dramatic wave of social and political unrest in Tunisia in three decades and resulted in scores of deaths and injuries, most of which were the result of action by police and security forces. Anita McNaught (born 1965) is a British journalist, television correspondent and former presenter, based in Istanbul in Turkey.
