Henry MacRae
Henry Alexander MacRae (August 29, 1876 – October 2, 1944) was a Canadians, Canadian film director, film producer, producer, and screenwriter during the silent film, silent era, working on many film Serial (film), serials for Universal Studios. One of a number of Canadian pioneers in early Hollywood, MacRae was credited with many innovations in film production, including artificial light for interiors, the wind machine, double exposures and shooting at night. Biography Henry MacRae was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on August 29, 1876, and died in Beverly Hills, California, United States on October 2, 1944, aged 68. He was active as a director from 1912 to 1933, making more than 130 films, most of them silent. In addition to the many Western (genre), westerns and adventure films to his credit, he directed the first Cinema of Thailand, Thai-Cinema of the United States, Hollywood co-production, ''Miss Suwanna of Siam'', in 1923. Betty Schade
Betty Schade (born Frida Feddersen; March 27, 1895 – March 27, 1982) was a German-born American actress of the silent era. She appeared in about 135 films between 1913 and 1921. Schade was born in Geestemünde (Bremerhaven), Germany and married first to actor Fritz Schade. The couple traveled to California in 1912-1913 and joined the original Mack Sennett stock company. Later the two were signed to contracts with Carl Laemmle's Universal Pictures. In 1917, she wed actor Ernest Shields and was contracted to Universal Pictures. She died in Los Angeles, California in 1982. Frankie Lee (December 31, 1911 – July 29, 1970), was an American child actor. He appeared in 56 films between 1916 and 1925. Best remembered in the 1919 film '' The Miracle Man'', he was the little boy on crutches healed by the phony faith healer just after Lon Chaney. He is the older brother of child actor Davey Lee. He was born in Gunnison, Colorado, United States. Death On July 29, 1970, Lee was shot in the head four times while he was asleep in his studio apartment in Los Angeles, California, 5 months before his 59th birthday. Winter Hall (21 June 1872 – 10 February 1947) was a New Zealand actor of the silent era who later appeared in sound films. He performed in more than 120 films between 1916 and 1938. Prior to that, he had a career as a stage actor in Australia and the United States. In sound films, he was frequently typecast as a clergyman. Biography Hall was born in Christchurch, New Zealand, and died in Los Angeles, California. Hall was married to fellow-New Zealander, Katherine Young, a concert pianist.
