The Bigs
''The Bigs'' (stylized as ''The BIGS'') is an arcade-style baseball video game for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Wii and PlayStation Portable. It was released in June 2007 in North America, and in October in the PAL region (Wii only). A sequel, ''The Bigs 2'', was released on July 7, 2009. Gameplay It features "outrageous visuals and intuitive gameplay mechanics", focusing on stylistic rather than realistic design, and gameplay featuring power-ups and turbo. It has also given the game of baseball a more "street" feel to it. The game features online play capability for up to four players on most of the seventh generation consoles, though online play is not compatible on the Wii. Capcom Game Studio Vancouver, Inc. (formerly Blue Castle Games Inc.), more commonly known as Capcom Vancouver, was a Canadian video game developer owned by Capcom with minority stake partnership by Microsoft Studios. As Blue Castle Games, the company was the creator of several successful baseball sports video games, including ''The Bigs'', '' MLB Front Office Manager'' and ''The Bigs 2''. Damon Matthew Bruce (born March 25, 1975) is an American sports radio host who currently hosts ''Damon and Ratto'' (with Ray Ratto) on KGMZ-FM "95.7 the Game" in San Francisco, California. An Indiana University Bloomington graduate, Bruce began his radio career in the late 1990s as a producer with KNBR in San Francisco. He later hosted ''Sports Overnight America'' and became a reporter for the ESPN Radio and Sporting News Radio networks. After stints in Columbus, Ohio and Fort Wayne, Indiana, Bruce re-joined KNBR 680 in 2005 to host ''Sportsphone 680''. GameSpy was an American provider of online multiplayer and matchmaking middleware for video games founded in 1996 by Mark Surfas.
