The Bigger Issues
''The Bigger Issues'' was a half-hour comedy drama series about an over-ambitious and incompetent fringe theatre company for BBC Radio 4 and was written and performed by Dave Lamb (as Keith Daniels), Jim North (as Francis), Nick Walker (as Dan), and Richie Webb (as each episode's guest musician). It ran for three series from 2000 to 2003. It was produced by Gareth Edwards. There were three series, though only Series 1 has ever been repeated on BBC Radio 4e (or its previous incarnation, BBC Radio 7). BBC Radio 4 is a British national radio station owned and operated by the BBC that replaced the BBC Home Service in 1967. It broadcasts a wide variety of spoken-word programmes, including news, drama, comedy, science and history from the BBC's headquarters at Broadcasting House, London. The station controller is Mohit Bakaya. Dave Lamb
David Alexander Lamb (born 17 January 1969) is an English actor, comedian, narrator and presenter. He is best known for his narration work on '' Come Dine with Me'' as well as appearances in British television and radio programmes, especially comedy programmes like '' Goodness Gracious Me''. He also presented the CBBC game show '' Horrible Histories: Gory Games''. Early life Lamb attended the Broxbourne School in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, and studied philosophy and literature at the University of Warwick. Early work Lamb's first noted credit was in the 1998 British sitcom ''How Do You Want Me?'' He played a homophobic tramp called Buster. His first notable appearances were in the British Indian sketch show '' Goodness Gracious Me'', being the only recurring white person in the cast. Gareth Edwards (producer)
Gareth Edwards (born 1965) is a radio and television producer and writer. He is the great-grandson of Hollywood pioneer Albert E. Smith, founder of Vitagraph Studios. TV and radio career He has worked on a number of radio and TV programmes including ''Comedy Firsts'' (ITV, 1995), ''The Big Town All Stars'' (BBC Radio 4, 1998), ''Spaced'' (Channel 4, 1999), '' The Bigger Issues'' (BBC Radio 4, 2000), ''Parsons and Naylor's Pull-Out Sections'' (BBC Radio 2, 2001), '' Dead Ringers'' (BBC Two, 2003, 2004), ''Posh Nosh'' (BBC Two, 2003), ''Vent'' (BBC Radio 4, 2006–09) Edwards produced ''That Mitchell and Webb Sound'' (BBC Radio 4, 2003–09), which won a Sony Silver Award in 2004; he also produced the TV version of this, starring the same David Mitchell and Robert Webb, entitled ''That Mitchell and Webb Look'' (BBC Two, 2006–10), which won best comedy BAFTA in 2006.
