The Big Game (rugby Union)
The Big Game is an annual rugby union match hosted by Harlequins during the Christmas holiday season each year. It is one of Harlequins' regular home matches in the Premiership Rugby but it is moved from their usual home ground at the Twickenham Stoop (14,816 capacity) to the much larger Twickenham Stadium (82,000 seats). There have been other high-profile matches in London between Premiership Rugby clubs at other times, including the London Double Header (2004-2017), Bath's The Clash at Twickenham and Saracens' games at Wembley Stadium, London Stadium and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Since 2022 Harlequins have also hosted an additional match at Twickenham near the end of the season known as Big Summer Kick-off. Nick Evans (rugby Union)
Nicholas John Evans (born 14 August 1980) is a New Zealand former rugby union player. He played at fly-half and fullback. He played for the Highlanders and the Blues in Super 14. At 28 he joined Harlequins for the 2008–09 Premiership Rugby season, and remained with the club until his retirement on a deal reportedly worth £320,000 a year. He retired at the end of the 2016–17 season and is now a coach for Quins. George Lowe (rugby Union)
George Lowe (born 22 October 1989 in England), is an English former rugby union player for Harlequins. He played as a Centre or on the Wing. Lowe made his first grade debut in the Premiership for Harlequins against Wasps on 5 September 2009. Lowe joined the Quins Academy Professionals in summer 2008, after leaving Epsom College, where he played in their first XV. He represented Surrey U18s, and also played for Harlequins in the A league whilst still a schoolboy. Lowe was called up to the England U20s squad for the U20 Six Nations, where he was in fine try-scoring form, and continued to represent England U20s throughout the Junior World Championship in the summer of 2009. London Irish
London Irish RFC is a professional rugby union club which competes in the Premiership, the top division of English rugby union. The club has also competed in the Anglo-Welsh Cup, the European Champions Cup and European Challenge Cup. While playing in the Championship in 2016–17 and 2018–19, it also played in the British and Irish Cup and RFU Championship Cup. Danny Cipriani (; born 2 November 1987) is an English professional rugby union player currently unattached. He most recently played for Premiership Rugby side Bath and previously played for Gloucester, Sale Sharks and Wasps in the Premiership and Melbourne Rebels in Super Rugby. David John Hume Walder (born 7 May 1978 in Newcastle upon Tyne) is a former rugby union footballer who is currently head coach at Newcastle Falcons from the 2017–18 season onwards, having been attack coach since 2015. Joe Simpson (born 5 July 1988) is a rugby union player who plays scrum half who plays for Sale Sharks in the Premiership Rugby. David Strettle
David Strettle, (born 23 July 1983), is a former English rugby union wing. Early life Strettle grew up in Thelwall, Cheshire, attending Lymm High School and playing for Lymm RFC. Strettle then went on to study at Sheffield Hallam University. Career In the summer of 2006, Strettle joined the Harlequins from Rotherham, and made his club debut in the pre-season friendly against ASM Clermont on 6 August of that year. As a teenager, he was a talented footballer, appearing on the books of Liverpool FC, Manchester City and Crewe Alexandra. He was also a keen rugby league fan. Daniel Stuart Care (born 2 January 1987) is an English rugby union player who plays for Harlequins in the Premiership as a scrum-half. He has played for England national team since 2008 and has won 87 caps. He previously played for England in several youth age groups as well as England Sevens and England Saxons. Early career Care was born in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. He first played rugby union at age 6, with his local club in Leeds, West Park Bramhope RUFC (now called West Park Leeds RUFC), although his first love was football. Wasps RFC
Wasps Rugby Football Club is a professional rugby union team. They last played in Premiership Rugby, the top division of English rugby until being suspended on 12 October 2022. On 17 October 2022 the club entered administration, resulting in relegation to the RFU Championship, and all staff being made redundant. They exited administration on 16 December 2022.
