The Best Of Elmo
''The Best of Elmo'' is a 1994 ''Sesame Street'' video originally released on VHS as part of the "My Sesame Street Home Video" series, the 16th and final title of the My Sesame Street Home Video series. A follow-up, ''The Best of Elmo 2'', was released in 2010, followed by ''The Best of Elmo 3'' (2015), followed by ''The Best of Elmo 4'' (2018). Plot As Maria leaves the Fix-It Shop carrying a large board of wood, Elmo walks by and accidentally bumps into her, dropping a bunch of pictures from his hands. After Maria helps pick them up, Elmo reveals that he is bringing them to the Monster-Art-Show and wants his friends to help decide what picture is best; Maria notices one drawing with Ernie and Elmo. Emily Squires
Emily Squires (August 23, 1941 – November 21, 2012) was an American television producer and director best known for her Emmy Award-winning work on ''Sesame Street''. Life and career After attending Randolph Macon Women's College, from which she later received an award as an outstanding alumna, Emily Squires graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1962. She moved to New York later that year and began working for CBS News. In 1967, when public television was in its infancy, she began working for the Public Broadcast Laboratory. Two years later, she began working as a production assistant at ''Sesame Street'' during its first year on the air. In 1982, Squires joined a team of ''Sesame Street'' directors that included Jon Stone, Lisa Simon, and Ted May. Jim Henson
James Maury Henson (September 24, 1936 – May 16, 1990) was an American puppeteer, animator, cartoonist, actor, inventor, and filmmaker who achieved worldwide notice as the creator of The Muppets and '' Fraggle Rock'' (1983–1987) and director of '' The Dark Crystal'' (1982) and ''Labyrinth'' (1986). He was born in Greenville, Mississippi, and raised in both Leland, Mississippi, and University Park, Maryland. Henson began developing puppets in high school. He created '' Sam and Friends'' (1955–1961), a short-form comedy television program, while he was a freshman at the University of Maryland, College Park in collaboration with Jane Nebel who was a senior. Elmo is a red Muppet monster character on the long-running PBS/ HBO children's television show ''Sesame Street''. A furry red monster who has a falsetto voice and illeism, he hosts the last full five-minute segment (fifteen minutes prior to 2017) on ''Sesame Street'', " Elmo's World", which is aimed at toddlers. Jerry Nelson
Jerry L. Nelson (July 10, 1934 – August 23, 2012) was an American puppeteer, best known for his work with The Muppets. Renowned for his wide range of characters and singing abilities, he performed Muppet characters on ''Sesame Street'', ''The Muppet Show'', '' Fraggle Rock'', and various Muppet movies and specials. Career On ''Sesame Street'', Nelson's longest-running character was Count von Count, the counting vampire who takes delight in counting anything (and everything) he can. Nelson did the voice and puppetry for the Count from 1972 until 2004 and continued to provide the Count's voice until his death in 2012. Fran Brill (born September 30, 1946) is an American retired actress and puppeteer, best known for her roles on ''Sesame Street'', as well as playing Sally Hayes in the Hal Ashby film ''Being There'' (1979), Dana Mardukas in the Martin Brest film ''Midnight Run'' (1988) and Lily Marvin in the Frank Oz film ''What About Bob?'' Big Bird
Big Bird is a Muppet character designed by Jim Henson and built by Kermit Love for the long-running children's television show ''Sesame Street''. An eight-foot two-inch (249 cm) tall bright yellow anthropomorphic bird, he can roller skate, ice skate, dance, swim, sing, write poetry, draw, and ride a unicycle. Despite this wide array of talents, he is prone to frequent misunderstandings, on one occasion even singing the alphabet as one long word (from the song called " ABC-DEF-GHI," pronounced ), pondering what it could mean. He would refer to grocer Mr. Hooper as "Mr. Looper", among other mispronunciations. He lives in a large nest behind the 123 Sesame Street brownstone and right next to Oscar the Grouch's trash can.
