The Beepers
The Beepers was an American music band consisting of Anthony Marinelli, Arthur B. Rubinstein, Brian Banks and Cynthia Morrow. They provided the theme song, "Murphy's Law" for the film, ''Blue Thunder'' (1983), their single "Video Fever" and the song "History Lesson" is used in the soundtrack for the 1983 film ''WarGames''. Pulse (Greg Phillinganes Album)
''Pulse'' is the title of the second solo album from session keyboardist Greg Phillinganes. Released on July 17, 1984, the album included what is perhaps Phillinganes' best-known solo "hit," a cover of Japanese synthpop band Yellow Magic Orchestra's song, " Behind the Mask," with additional lyrics by Michael Jackson. The track "Countdown to Love" was also featured in the 1984 film, '' Streets of Fire'', while both "Playin' with Fire" and "Signals" would later appear in the 1986 film, '' Touch and Go''. "Unity" is a song recorded by Afrika Bambaataa and James Brown as a duet in 1984. It was the first recording in which Brown collaborated with a performer associated with hip hop, a then-new idiom heavily influenced by Brown's own funk music. The record's title and its cover showing the two performers clasping hands express solidarity between the two styles. "Behind the Mask" is a 1979 song by Japanese synth-pop group Yellow Magic Orchestra. Initially an instrumental written by band member Ryuichi Sakamoto for a 1978 Seiko commercial, the song was elaborated upon with bandmates Haruomi Hosono and Yukihiro Takahashi and lyricist Chris Mosdell for inclusion on ''Solid State Survivor'' the following year. Anthony Marinelli (born March 19, 1959) is an American musician, composer and conductor. In his early career, he composed and performed accompaniment on the synthesizer for albums including Michael Jackson's ''Thriller'' (1983). Marinelli has also recorded with Lionel Richie, Kenny Loggins, Herb Alpert, Supertramp, The Crystal Method, Billy Childs and James Brown.
