The Ambassadors Of Death
''The Ambassadors of Death'' is the third serial of the seventh season of the British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who'', which was first broadcast in seven weekly parts on BBC1 from 21 March to 2 May 1970. Written by Trevor Ray, Terrance Dicks and Malcolm Hulke (though solely credited to David Whitaker), the serial was directed by Michael Ferguson. The serial is set in London, Hertfordshire and the Earth's orbit. In the serial, the alien time traveller the Third Doctor (Jon Pertwee) and the international organisation UNIT investigate the disappearance of astronauts who have lost contact with Earth. They become involved in a conspiracy and meet alien ambassadors who have arrived on Earth. Plot The United Nations Intelligence Taskforce attempts to make contact with the missing Mars Probe Seven and its two astronauts, who lost contact with Earth eight months earlier. Cyril Shaps
Cyril Leonard Shaps (13 October 1923 – 1 January 2003) was an English actor of radio, television and film, with a career spanning over seven decades. Early radio Shaps was born in the East End of London to Polish-Jewish parents; his father was a tailor. Shaps was a child broadcaster, at the London School of Broadcasting providing voices for radio commercials from the age of 12. He was educated at Central Foundation Boys' School, then took an office job with the London Ambulance Service. Following service as a warrant officer in the Royal Army Educational Corps during World War II, he was trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and then worked for two years as an announcer, producer and scriptwriter for Radio Netherlands. Geoffrey Beevers
Geoffrey Beevers (born 15 January 1941) is a British actor who has appeared in many different stage and screen roles. Career Theatre Beevers has worked extensively at the Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond upon Thames, both as an actor (including the title role in Jules Romain's ''Doctor Knock'', 1994); and as an adaptor/director of George Eliot's novel ''Adam Bede'' (February 1990), for which he won a Time Out Award, and Honoré de Balzac's ''Père Goriot'' (February 1994). Derek Ware (actor)
Derek Arthur Ware (27 February 1938 – 22 September 2015) was an English actor and stuntman, active from the late 1950s through the 1990s. Ware's parents were Arthur, a music hall performer, and his wife Margaret. After graduating from RADA in 1957, his earliest television work was on the BBC's cycle of Shakespeare's history plays, ''An Age of Kings'' (1960), as both actor and stunt arranger. For the director Peter Watkins, Ware was involved in the production of the docudramas, '' Culloden'' (1964) and ''The War Game'' (1966), both for the BBC. Ware was a stuntman and fight arranger for the early seasons of ''Doctor Who'' on which his company Havoc, founded in 1966, was involved as well as many other television shows into the 1970s, for both the BBC and ITV.
