James Clayton (? at Sheffield, England – 22 July 1588) was an English Roman Catholic priest. Life He was the son of a shoemaker, apprenticed to a blacksmith for seven years. He spent his leisure hours in educating himself, giving special attention to the study of Latin. His studies led him to embrace the Catholic religion, and he was sent to the English College at Reims (1582), where he was ordained priest in 1585. He immediately returned to England on mission work in Yorkshire. James Clayton (engineer)
James Clayton MBE (17 November 1872 – 12 October 1946) was an English mechanical engineer who worked extensively on railway locomotives. Clayton was born in Stockport, Cheshire and attended the Technical School in Manchester and thereafter served an apprenticeship at Beyer Peacock, becoming a draughtsman in their drawing office. After six years in that post he took a position with the South Eastern and Chatham Railway (SECR). In 1904, he left for a year's work with the Motor Manufacturing Company, an automobile manufacturer in Coventry, as their chief draughtsman and assistant works manager. Following this, he was hired by Cecil Paget, Chief Superintendent of the Midland Railway, to work on his high pressure multi-cylinder locomotive. During his time with the Midland, he spent two years in charge of the casualty and investigation section, and was appointed Assistant Chief Locomotive Draughtsman in 1907. Gordon Clayton (footballer, Born 1910)
James Gordon Thomas Clayton (9 July 1910 – 1976) was an English professional footballer who played as a centre forward for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Aston Villa and Burnley. Please note that JGC was born in 1913 and died in 1998 aged 85. Career Clayton joined Wolverhampton Wanderers in October 1932 from Shotton Colliery in October 1932, later making his debut on 21 April 1934 in a 1–5 loss at Newcastle United. He made only a handful of appearances over the following seasons until the 1936–37 season when he enjoyed an established run in the team, scoring 29 times, as the club finished fifth in the First Division. After making a bright start to the following season, he was purchased by Aston Villa in October 1937. He immediately helped them win the Second Division championship but stayed only 12 months before joining Burnley in October 1938. James L. Clayton, Sr. (born March 2, 1934) is an American businessman, investor, and philanthropist. He founded Clayton Homes in 1966 and built it into the United States' largest producer and seller of manufactured housing, a formerly publicly traded company that was sold to Berkshire Hathaway in 2003 for $1.7 billion. Early life James L. Clayton was born in 1934 in Finger, Tennessee. His father was a sharecropper. As a child, he aspired to become a country music singer. After high school, he went to Memphis to attend Memphis State and perform in honky tonks. 12th Helpmann Awards
The 12th Annual Helpmann Awards was held on 24 September 2012 at the Sydney Opera House, in Sydney, New South Wales. Administered by Live Performance Australia (LPA), accolades were presented for achievements in disciplines of Australia's live performance sectors, for productions during the season between 1 March 2011 – 31 May 2012. Awards were handed out in forty-two categories for achievements in theatre, musicals, opera, ballet, dance and concerts. With the 2012 edition, LPA established the Helpmann Awards Travel Fund which seeks to provide a greater opportunity for productions outside of Melbourne and Sydney to become Nominated for an Award.
