The Abbey Road EP (Spiritualized Album)
''The Abbey Road E.P.'' is an EP by Red Hot Chili Peppers, released in the UK in May 1988 through EMI America as a way of introducing UK fans to the band's back catalog as they were touring the UK that year. Out of the five tracks included on this EP, four had already been previously released on the band's first three albums while the other would end up on their fourth album ''Mother's Milk'' in tribute to Hillel Slovak, the band's original guitarist who died of a heroin overdose and plays guitar on the track. All songs on the EP were also featured on the band's hits compilation, ''What Hits!?''. The only "new" track at the time of release was a cover of the song "Fire" by Jimi Hendrix, which was recorded during the sessions for '' The Uplift Mofo Party Plan'' and included in a different mix as the B-side to "Fight Like a Brave". Jack Sherman (guitarist)
Jack Morris Sherman (January 18, 1956 – August 18, 2020) was an American guitarist, best known as the second guitarist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, between Hillel Slovak's departure and return. He played on the band's debut album, and co-wrote much of their second album, ''Freaky Styley''. He went on to collaborate with musicians Bob Dylan, George Clinton, Feargal Sharkey, and Peter Case. Cliff Martinez (born February 5, 1954) is an American musician and composer. Early in his career, Martinez was known as a drummer notably with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Captain Beefheart. Catholic School Girls Rule
"Catholic School Girls Rule" is a song from the 1985 album ''Freaky Styley'' by The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Although never released as a proper radio single, a music video for the song was made and was directed by longtime friend, Dick Rude. The video was only played on Playboy TV because of a nude scene, and because it also featured a controversial scene of Kiedis singing from on a cross. The song was also featured on the band's 1992 compilation album, ''What Hits!?'' and the music video can be found on the VHS/DVD of the same name. Background The song is inspired by an instance where a 14-year-old girl who attended a local Catholic school met singer Anthony Kiedis backstage, who slept with her while on tour before and after discovering her age. Jack Irons
Jack Steven Irons (born July 18, 1962) is an American drummer. He is the founding drummer of the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers and is a former member of Pearl Jam and Eleven. Alongside his work with Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam, Irons has been a member of Eleven, The Wallflowers and Mark Lanegan Band. He has worked with Joe Strummer and The Latino Rockabilly War, Redd Kross, Raging Slab, Spinnerette and The Les Claypool Frog Brigade. Anthony Kiedis
Anthony Kiedis ( ; born November 1, 1962) is an American singer and songwriter. He is a founding member and lead vocalist of the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers. Kiedis and his fellow band members were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.
